Let's play devil's advocate for moment... The only way this is truly a win with picking up Crawford would be if CHI was dumb enough to take Ladd back.

Regardless, the Islanders were still one of the highest scoring teams in the league; they don't need more. They need a goalie upgrade and to tweak their defense. Crawford is not the goalie he was and this would be a limp-in.

As soon as he went down, the team sank faster than the Titanic. He was playing as good as he ever has this season prior to injury, and he’s one of the few goalies in the NHL that actually performs and can be called upon in the post-season.

He’s absolutely an elite goalie, and his value to the organization and team-friendly contract only reinforces how important he is to the Hawks.

Unless there is something with Corey Crawford's Injury we don't know . Chicago would be crazy to trade him. He has being there MVP for a few years now. And look at the nose dive they took when he got injured this year.

With a healthy Crawford we would have made the playoffs this year, but most certainly another first round exit at best. I'm not sure they make any big moves this summer (with the core) since it looks like "the whole team had an off year." If it was another first round exit from the playoffs it may have been a different story.

Goaltending, defense, and coaching fixes are needed. JVR is a nice player but is not needed on the Isles. I like Crawford as a goalie, but the Isles need a younger goalie.

Habs will go with Brady bc they are too scared to draft another highly skilled OHL Russian player who missed time with an injury.
Sens will (frank) it up by taking a dman like Boqvist or Bouchard
