I like him but I think the jury will be out if he can translate that to NHL speed.

Look at tom wilson not very good skater his first couple if years but work on it and is pretty good skater brower another example. So edjisell works this offseason on his skating and his first stride looks like the skill is there.

I'm not saying he can't do it, but only time will tell. I just think there are a number of guys who can play AHL hockey and make moves but struggle with the speed of play in the NHL. (not just skating)

I guess my point is that it is great to see him doing well, but I'm not holding my breath until he has a strong training camp in Chicago or a successful call up.

did not see the game but the caps are surprising the hell out of me: since going down 0-2 with home losses they are 9-2 and 6-1 on the road...

True for most of that Hog roster - not unique to the tall Euro center. No one in Rockford looks to have a difference making trajectory to the NHL anytime soon, if at all.

Yep. Jokiharju and the 8th pick are the best prospects. When is Svedberg going to become Chara-lite? Lol

Rockford has done it again.... a 6-3 win completes the sweep and that's 7 straight wins.

They take on the Texas Stars in round 3.

What is it with you posters trashing Rockford? They have won 7 straight play-off games after closing the season very strongly. The other teams aren’t just mailing it in - Rockford has talent that can and will contribute at the NHL level - assuming Q doesn’t destroy them.

JFCA, we know we know we know you don't like Ulf and Q. I'm not a Q guy either. But FFS if you're going to post so often mix it up a little. And before you say just don't read your posts, I usually don't and haven't for a while. But every so often I do and it's the same old poop all over again. (frank).
- 6628

The truth is the truth. When a team fails there is an obvious hierachy of blame. Q and Ulf were at the top of that hierachy. Maybe this works better for you - heard rumours that the Training Staff weren’t quite as good as they were in previous years.

My point is I think he dserves the A because he has shown the leadership by his hard work. His ability to meet the media, and clearly has worked harder on his game and works with the young guys. Keith gets to keep his because he has always had it? that makes no sense. Seabs got the A Because of things he did 5 years ago. what kind of message does that send to Forsling, Murphy, Nick, Cat, Skuira, Hayden, Vin. That is something that should be revaluated is my point. How about have all the guys that have rings vote for who gets the A? Teows, keith, Seabs, Craw, kane, Saad get to vote and you cannot vote for yourself.
- kmw4631

kmw I am in total agreement that Kane overwhelmingly deserves an “A”. Understand your frustration. I just can’t see the Hawks making it happen. Think Toews, Keith, Seebs in place for the long haul unless a trade or trades take place (like Sharp). The team could go to revolving “A”s with 2 being for home games and 2 for away games for the first half of the season, switching for the second half of the season.

Caps came out flying and continued. I picked Tampa at the start of the year and am sticking. They've got a ton of depth on that team. Bolts also started slow and got killed in game one vs. the Lickers I mean the Bruins. They've had a bit of a lay off coming in here. So we'll see how they do Sunday.

Take a good look at Stralman the guy I wanted the Hawks to sign as a UFA back in 14 I believe it was. Yzerman has done a great job building that team. Sadly Scotty stuck us with his kid instead of pushing Stevie Y our way.

Probably because a lot of season-ticket holder’s have seen this all too often in the past, I referred to it before is the Matt Murton syndrome, Great minor league player but can’t do squat in the pros. And as far as coaching, Rocky and John are not going to put a 32-year-old kid Behind the bench, whom would those suggest to replace Q if they start out bad. You know that John is going to want a kind of high profile coach with a good resume. And I don’t think they will go the college route either.

there seems to be a trend with NHL teams: the more rest...the first game back they skate in mud and with a deliver a complete flat tire...

look out now the caps have clearly put away their demons...

Stralman would have been a nice pickup but I can't recall if the Hawks could afford him at the time.

Stevie Y has done a nice job assembling a team and paying his own players. Having the luxury of never having won anything always makes it a tad more easy to get players to accept a little less money and buy into the possibility of winning it all.

If they capture the Cup let's see what player demands ratchet up to with even just that one win.

Justin what free agents would you like the hawks to target on July 1st if they are available.
I know EK mention jack Johnson. that hawks were interested in my opinion doesn't excite me but would be ok pickup if they sign him.

If the team is trying to get younger and faster, I'm not sure what Jack Johnson would do to stabilize your top 6...no thanks.

I don't post too often but, the constant Q and Bowman bashing really gets to me. I have been a Blackhawk fan since the late 50's. I have seen some really good Hawk teams not win the Cup. I was 8 years old when they won it in 61 and 58 when they won it in 10. I never thought I would see them win one again and they went ahead and won 3 in 6 years. Nobody is more disappointed in them not making the playoffs than me but, it is what it is. Everybody is a genius when they are winning but, all of a sudden when they are not they are world class idiots.

If their jobs are so easy then everybody could do it, correct. It is so easy to criticize but, not so easy to do the job. It wasn't that long ago that this franchise was voted the worst franchise in all of sport. We have come along way in a short time don't you think? Maybe some of you want the likes of Bob Pulford and Alpo Suhonen back. I know I sure don't and I am grateful for Rocky and all involved for making this franchise great again.

What is it going to take to get them back on top? I don't have the answers for that because I am just a fan not some pretend expert. All I can do is hope for the best because that is all I can do.

I am far from a bandwagon fan, my family and I have had Blackhawk season tickets on 3 different occasions. I grew up loving the Blackhawks and have passed that on to my kids and now to my grandkids.

So, like I have said many times in the "Old Barn and at the UC:

the problem is that the hawks are getting progressively worse. slower, smaller, and weaker. every game that i have went to at the united center over the past 3 years has been a snoozefest. and all losses. its not the losses that bother me, i just see a team less competitive than previously, with at least 50 minutes of uninspired play. as many of the posters have stated(me included), watching the remaining 4 teams playing right now.......the current hawks are no where close to these teams. watching some of the Hogs playoff games has been uplifting!!! check 'em out if you can!

I agree 100% with both yourself and McCovey,( another great baseball icon was glad to be able to see him play as a kid! )
I just impossible because it’s not that far off that we had one three Stanley cups, but it just seems that fans are pissed off because Stan Bowman is trying to re-create the Montréal Canadiens of the 70s, and in today’s game you also need size and grit along with the speed. And it seems like he has a lot more Misses then hits.
I get what you’re saying about the snooze fest, we’ve had season tickets since 19 7273, and I agree with you on the last three years. Hopefully from the top down the mindset is “fix it or else quote, starting with the draft in late June. By July 15 we should see if it’s put up or shut up time for the BLACKHAWKS of next season.
