three teams were rumored for Ryan McDonagh, Bruins, Leafs and Lightning

no coincidence that the team that pulled it off is still the one playing

- jimbo83

I''m glad it was the Lightning too. McDonaugh would not have taken us one step further. We need a couple of good young D men for sure. At least we still have our 1st rounder. Good on Lou!

Haha it has been so weird, but I love it here. I can't say enough great things about this switch from EEI to 98.5. It's like night and day.

I dont think McDonaugh is a 1D. He is a 2D/3D which is the role he has in Tampa. In NY I think he was asked for too much. The same would be if he was in Toronto only the microscope would have been bigger. In Tampa he can just play his game with less pressure. It was smart of Toronto not to trade for him but I think he still would have made a difference.

Backes is done. Good move by STL to let him walk. He is declining, the human body can only handle so much with they way he plays.

Rick Nash would be a good signing for anyone outside of NYR. He still has life in him but he won't have good offensive numbers playing for the Rangers. I think if given the chance to play with a top playmaker he can return close to his top form.

I would resign Nash if he could be had for like 4 million.
Other than that, I think developing Debrusk, Heinen, Bjork, Donato is the priority up front

The whispers are that Jeremy Jacobs has pretty much convinced Gary Bettman to award the Bruins with Toronto's first round pick this draft as part of a trumped up tampering accusation. The Leafs are flat out denying it and even though Jacobs has ZERO evidence it's going to happen.

Done! Also because you seem like a good guy and I want to like you, You can have Krejci as well. No need to add anything to the pot. A gift from me to you.

I';m actually hearing that Backes is going to retire. Good for him if he does, how many concussions does a guy need? Also great for the Bruins if true.

Carlo is good. With more experience he is a going to be a solid stay at home defender. Considering he was a 2nd round pick, I would absolutely take the 1st and Nemestnikov.

I've always really liked Backes as a player. The term on the contract is what I was not a fan of. Hate to see him go out like that if it's true.

agreed, great player, but not what he once was, and definitly overpaid, which in a salary cap league, you have to be careful about.
