Goalies playing well get lucky.
Goalies playing poorly have pucks bounce off three posts and their own backs - and in the net. - StLBravesFan

I have kept track of every NHL goal scored since 1961 - at least those on videotape or film - and the quality of the goaltending involved.
I’ll try to put it in a logical format - give me a couple of days....

All joking aside, this looks like it'll be the only series worth watching, be very surprised if Pens, Bolts and LVGK don't advance, personally rooting for the Jets to win it all.
And no I'm not Canadian but i really like the team and big fan of Buff |

I'm still somewhat surprised how easily the Kings and Ducks went down. But each of those teams have some scumbag players I'm always happy to see lose. |

He played two seasons in the OHL. He’s still likely a long shot to make the NHL but at least he has some experience on North American ice. |

You’re probably are right but oh would the conspiracy theorist around the league come out of the woodwork if the Hawks won the lottery.

For those who need a refresher on the 2 times the Hawks have won the draft lottery:
(from SecondCityHockey.com)
Chicago has won the lottery twice before in 1999 and 2007.
In 1999, Chicago moved up from the eighth spot to the fourth overall pick. The Hawks traded the pick to the Vancouver Canucks for defenseman Bryan McCabe and the Canucks’ first-round picks in 2000 and 2001. The New York Rangers acquired the pick in a trade with Vancouver and Tampa Bay, to select Pavel Brendl.
And we all know how the 2007 #1 pick went. |

The way this season went, they will somehow lose both 1st rounders and get replaced with 7th rounders. |

The Kahun signing was rumored for months (since before the TDL) so not sure what the holdup was. |

Morr likely to see Forsling than Dahlin pulling a Blackhawk sweater over his inflated head
"I' m so excited to replace DK on the powerplay. I relish the opportunity to play with Kane - what a magician he is with the puck."
Jonathan Toews maybe he has taken you under his wing the short time you"ve been in Chicago?
:Actually his girlfrirnd and Johnny made a really tasty healthy vegetarian dinner for us." Later, Forsling admitted "Johnny seemed kind of pissed about the powerplay thet run. Didn't want to tslk about it. Ssid you'll see who messes that all up once you get to play on the pp."
These are the imaginative thoughts i dreamed in my short nap. I have to get up and set up the cheering section for our fans.
What Forsling said in my knap right before the draft .

Love to see him on the ice when the opposition scores........
Pekka should worry more about stopping pucks than acting. Crow has got to be beside himself. Rinne barely gets touched and it is goalie interference, and Crow gets beaten up multiple times a game, and play on!. WTF! - powerenforcer
An important issue regarding the abuse Crow and all Hawks’ goalies take is our D-Men, as a rule, do not make opposing teams’ players pay in front of the net. Buff is taking heads off if anyone touches a Jets’ goalie. We have too many non-contact D-Men - Rutta, Forsling, Oesterle, Gus etc. Opposing players don’t take liberties if it means paying a physical price. This is a direct by-product of not featuring toughness.

What about Garrett Sparks to back up Crow next year? He appears to be buried in the Toronto organization. Not sure what it would take to acquire him. - TJYTJY
My gut is that Sparks is amongst the options being considered for backup. The Hawks love the local kids. If no team nabs him this summer, give him a PTO for training camp. I think someone else mentioned that as one part of the strategy this off season: find various players (not just goalie) to invite to camp as tryouts and let the fire in their belly drive them to earn a contract. |

It's also very tough on the United Center grounds crew, as they need to spend extra time after each game breaking down and removing the tents opposing teams had pitched in front of the 'Hawks goal. |

Totally agree. Answering Justin's question from his blog, one thing I have noticed this playoffs that the Hawks need to take note of and adopt is exactly what you stated.
An example like Byfuglien doing this is Chara. I watched Game 7 of the Bruins-Leafs series and Chara would constantly shove or even just stare down anyone who came close to Rask. Helps that he's almost 7 feet tall, but the general principle is still the same: guard the crease and your goalie like it's a playoff overtime game. |
