If Nico were to skate over to Hedman and whack him in the balls our of the blue (no pun intended) you'll see how quickly it'll get pointed out by the refs and other Bolts that it's not 'just playoff hockey'. I'll be there will be penalties awarded and some fighting to follow.
But after watching PK Subban get his head repeatedly banged into the ice by Crosby without even a minor penalty being called you realize the star players are given a wide birth. If it was Dalton Prout it would be a multi game suspension. - Queenie_5_hole
Is this implying PK was lying there passively, going about his business and not holding crosby's stick?
I do agree that star players are given a longer leash |

Shero HAS to go out and get Carlson and Kane this off season. This team takes another step towards ELITE respectability with those two additions. |

I'm more inclined to give Kucherov the benefit of the doubt because at least it was a hockey move. Maybe he didn't intend to hit his head or injure him but Hedman....that was flat out bs. That's not a hockey play and should have no business happening. The league should suspend EVERYONE that does that. What kinda league is this? How do you even defend hitting someone's in the jewels? Pathetic. - Devils4ever
Well, Crosby does it and gets away with it. Marchand does it and gets away with it. The culture is tolerating dirty play and that is unfortunate for the entire sport. It cheapens the sport and endangers the players. There should be a zero tolerance for that crap. I agree, Hedman's spear was a cheap shot and he should have been given a major and misconduct at the least. I just hope it was a one-off type of thing and doesn't become normal for him. Like Marchand, Hedman has too much talent to engage in that kind of cheap play.

Exactly. It shouldn't matter who did it. If you decide to try and hurt someone like that you should get suspended, even if its playoffs. If you lose a series because you had to sit out for it maybe you'll learn your lesson. That kinda play has no business being in our great sport. |

You can say the exact same thing about Doughtys hit, yet he got a game and Kucherov didn’t even get a hearing. |

I agree. The league is inconsistent. Doughty got the same as the guy from the Jets who clearly targeted I think it was Staals head. That should have been way more than 1 game. |

Campbell needs to fired and all of the officials re-trained. NHL officiating is the worst in all of professional sports. It is a joke. The rot starts at the top and runs downward.

That hit on Staal was disgusting. Should have been a 5-major, game misconduct, 7+ game suspension, and massive fine.

Yupp. I don't understand what the league is doing. Whoever is reviewing these needs to be fired. |

Sorry. I forgot the ‘it’s ok to try to turn someone’s brains to tapioca if they touch your stick rule’. Even if it’s after you tackle them. |

we need the D men to stop shooting the puck into the shin pads. Ive never seen it as much as this years Devils. Andy Green is the an automatic every time he shoots from the blue line |

At the last game I noticed a lot of hesitancy in the shooters including guys at the point. They were not one-timing it but seemed to wait before pulling the trigger which resulted in a lot of blocked shots. Bad signs.... |

Good to see hedman take responsibility for spearing Nico
Hedman said that play isn't a part of the game and said he apologized to Nico after game 1 and said he deserved being boo'd and understands why |

We gave up a lot for Mueller . He is not going to the minors.
Severson also signed to a big contract.
We also have Vatanen , Butcher , Greene ,and Moore .
that leaves one D spot . Maybe 2.
Need some more muscle to go with the speed. started with Speed. now add size and muscle. - thechezman
Just because we gave up a 2nd rd pick for mueller does not entitle him a spot on the roster. I like Green, but he has certainly lost a step over the years, great hockey iq, but ideally would be bumped to the #5 spot. Butcher and Vats are clear top 4 D, and Severson really isnt making "Big" money. His 4M is pretty typical of many #4-5 D men in the league these days. At 23, I still dont think it is a bad deal for the Devs. Moore is still a wildcard to me. But Lovejoy has one more year and Greener has two more, So I would love to see the Devs target the best UFA D's, and personally think Carlson would lift this team to another level, with Enstrom being the usual stellar defender who is allergic to taking shots. Would be a welcome addition. |

I agree. Also, throwing assets for Doughty isnt a bad thing. The dude is never injured, plays every style of D.
He'll command 25+ a game so we can lose Butcher in the deal + 1st and Mcleod. |

We will have the cap space with Clowe, stafford, hayes, and Lack off the payroll (7.725M combined) , and then the cap is supposedly going up 4-7M this season. Also, Green and Lovejoy will not be resigned and in two years time free up 7.67M So realistically we spend 12-15M this season without sweating and still likely have money to look at extensions to our stars that will be approaching extensions. That, or we take a bad contract for some nice draft picks. Either way, lets spend. |

I actually think that would be a solid deal for both teams. After that playoff performance, LA is probably assessing the direction their "older" team is heading and that would bring young, affordable talent. I am sure Carter and Quick would complete a youth transition for the Kings. And I would love to have Doughty, guy is an animal!!!! |

Victor Hedman said he texted Nico Hischier to apologize after Game 3 for spear to a sensitive area, said he deserved to be booed in NJ. “That was an immature play on my part.” #Bolts #TBLvsNJD
just throwing it out there. cool that hedman even has nico's number. maybe he asked boyle for it |
