It was almost identical to the Doughty play, and he got a game. The DOPS said they wanted consistency, well this was their chance and yet again they show that they're laughable.
I don't think Doughty should have gotten suspended, but he did, Kuch should get a game too for practically the same hit |

I don't know man, I thought Doughty was head first contact and this one wasn't but I do agree on the lack of consistency |

Mark Stone a UFA or RFA?
Would love him as our RW1 and give Hall-Hischier a little size on that first line |

He'll be an RFA, who knows if Ottawa is willing to pay him/match with whatever is going on over there |

Doughty wasn't head first contact though, he grazed the shoulder first then hit head. He should've never gotten a game for it, but he did. Kuch should get the same punishment, DOPS is a joke. |

That's a good point, they'd be a prime team to try to get with an offer sheet. |

The fact that doughty and morrisey get the same punishment is what really is a joke. Then you add in that refs call all the slashing and hooking and interference that are very minor at times, and then miss major calls. Now I don't think the Kucherov hit was aimed at his head, on the blindside, yes, maybe being a lil bigger then Sami and Sami leaning down it looked that way, but that lack of consistency at the top funnels down to the refs and then to the players. |

He also left his feet. I didn't expect him to get suspended, though I'm surprised no hearing or fine, but it was certainly not a "clean" hit. |

This article is bullspit and makes me sick. The player safety along with the league is a joke. the league has had it out for the Devils for a long time. This is just further proof that the Devils are on their own. We need a straight up Goon on the team for next season. This crap has to stop if they want to be taken seriously.

Two things pavel zacha needs to work on this summer. Find a bigger stick, so tired of hearing cangi say pass to zacha and it bounces over his stick. Learn how to hit the net with a shot, i know he is from europe, but can someone explain to him its not a soccer net? He is the first guy i would move in any attempt to acquire a defenseman. Just my opinion!! |

Both hits were fine, Doughty getting suspended just shows the NHL is doing what they can for Vegas to win. Neither should even be a penalty, its hockey, you can hit. Kucherov should get suspended only on the basis that Doughty did and the NHL really (frank)ed themselves with Doughty's suspension

We gave up a lot for Mueller . He is not going to the minors.
Severson also signed to a big contract.
We also have Vatanen , Butcher , Greene ,and Moore .
that leaves one D spot . Maybe 2.
Need some more muscle to go with the speed. started with Speed. now add size and muscle.

Re : Hedman and Kucherov
For now, I am inclined to give Kucherov the benefit of the doubt. He has no history of dirty play and is rarely physical. I've watched the video of that hit about 20 times. It looks a little on the dirty side of incidental. If this is a one-off event, I will chalk it up to playoff intensity and Kucherov not being a experienced hitter. I hope Vatanen is not hurt - I never want to see a player hurt unless it's Brad Marchand on the receiving end.
The Hedman spear surprises and disappoints me. Hedman is not typically a dirty player. I have no idea why he thought that was a good idea. He plays on my favorite team and is one of my favorite players, so I will shake my head this time and let it pass.
However, unlike Boston fans, if Kucherov or Hedman keep this up and start playing dirty, then I will turn on them - I will not keep rooting for dirty players, even if they play on my team. Marchand could go up into the stands and spear somebody's grandmother and he would get a pass from the Boston fanbase. This Tampa fan don't play dat.
I hope this is the end of Hedman's spears and Kucherov's head-hunting.

Bro come on. Marchand does it all "by accident". No where near as intentional as dirty players like hedman and kuch. Ha. But you are right. Boston fans legit think that he can do no wrong and is the victim |

Thank you for being reasonable. Way more than I can say for many of the Bolts fans on twitter last night.

I'm more inclined to give Kucherov the benefit of the doubt because at least it was a hockey move. Maybe he didn't intend to hit his head or injure him but Hedman....that was flat out bs. That's not a hockey play and should have no business happening. The league should suspend EVERYONE that does that. What kinda league is this? How do you even defend hitting someone's in the jewels? Pathetic. |

That's just bs. Hitting someone on the arm is a penalty but hitting someone in between the legs is playoff hockey...there is no other sport that tolerates that. |

If Nico were to skate over to Hedman and whack him in the balls our of the blue (no pun intended) you'll see how quickly it'll get pointed out by the refs and other Bolts that it's not 'just playoff hockey'. I'll be there will be penalties awarded and some fighting to follow.
But after watching PK Subban get his head repeatedly banged into the ice by Crosby without even a minor penalty being called you realize the star players are given a wide birth. If it was Dalton Prout it would be a multi game suspension. |
