Todd Cordell: Devils drop Game 4, put on brink of elimination by Lightning

I was at the game last night and I really couldn't tell if the Vat hit was dirty. The fans were going insane on the refs, but can't put too much stock in that. Did the commentators for last night game make any comments on the hit? I can't even find a replay of it.

Can we sign Stevens or Dano for a shift to have them run Kucherov. IF he doesn't get a suspension, the Kings are going to be livid after the doughty suspension.

Would have been a totally different game if Vats was able to come back and play last night. Makes every aspect of our game better (break outs, zone entry, PP, etc.).

Saturday will be tough as it is, without Vat it will be next to impossible.

The fact that we know how limited sre chances are Saturday without Vatanen just shows you how deep TB is and how much further we have to go. I think Bratt should get start Saturday gonna need as much speed as we can if Sami is not ready. Been a great year snd lets not give up now...LETS GO DEVILS

Hedman cheap shot on Nico was garbage.

The Devils will continue to come up short as long as they get pushed around on the ice.

No one took Hedman to task for his cheap shot to Hischeir, and Vatanan goes down on a borderline hit.

But all the Devils defensemen are small and non-physical. Maroon and Wood are tough, but there is no one to fear on the Devils when it comes to retribution.

Playoff hockey still is won by the team that is the most physical.

Well it was fun while it lasted but we just don't have the horses to keep up with Tampon Bay. At least we didn't lay down and roll over, this team has show tremendous heart all year. Hopefully we address our need for some defensive help in the off season.

He did. But we need him more now than ever with Vats hurt. That second goal was entirely his fault, where he failed to bank pass, then put the puck on a tee for Kuch. It was a bad sequence. Still better than Lovejoy. I am alrealy looking forward to free agency. Hoping Carlson 6yr 7.5M AAV, and Enstrom 1 yr 2M...... Just think:

I was at the game last night also and was shocked we even held our own and stayed in this once Vats went down.

Realistically we got pushed around badly and Tampa has really disrupted how the Devils play. Hall was hit just about every time he touched the puck. A few times when he didn't. All around we got pushed around a lot.

Personally, I'm proud that the team fought thru it all game. Nobody quit but obviously it was very frustrating.

Not blaming Stafford for this but he's got to come out and we need some speed. PUt in Bratt or Grabner.
