that's a total slap to this coaching staff that made the playoffs when most expected them to win 3-5 games after moving watkins
- homiedclown

I'm assuming this is not sarcastic. But: this year they have no proven QB, the worst receivers in the league, lost their LB, o-line, and they have the most dead money in the league. McDermott has been saying for a while, "we don't want to step back, but..." And "there are a lot of warts on this team."

I give them a 5% chance at the playoffs

this is what is wrong with the Bills/Sabres

Asked Wednesday by the NFL Network where she will be draft night, Bills owner Kim Pegula said, "I will be in Buffalo in the war room. At the big table."

the 2018 bills overachieved

the 2019 bills could do the same, esp if they keep all of their draft picks

Lamar Jackson will be a top 5-10 surprise IMO.

I could see Miami or AZ moving up for him

Yeah, to 9 wins.

The 2019 Bills are worse. 7-8 wins would be overachieving

A top level QB raises the level of the entire team. You don't have to manufacture first downs, go 3 and out if you don't and wear out your D week in and week out.

They make the games fun to watch as well. Give up what is needed to get who they think will flourish in the NFL and lead this team far in the playoffs. Jesus, holding back and waiting to get a QB like the Bills have been doing for over 2 decades is crazy.

Beane rightly got his kudos for acquiring the picks he did while still making the playoffs. Now it's time to see if he has the cojones to trade them all away for the QB of the next 10 years. I hope he does, and I hope he's right. But I'd rather him be wrong on the guy than not try

I think he plays the Pouliot role of being in and out of the lineup, 50-ish games and can give you 10-12 goals next year as a bottom 6'er.

0 issues with him for 1 year. Let it ride

You don't draft casey to be your 3rd line center

you don't pay RoR to be your 3rd line center

discuss
- homiedclown

Depends how important the Center position is to you

Are we a team that’s building a “top6”
Or are we building down the MIDDLE,
and filling in the wings around the centers?

I’m more of a “build down the middle” guy,
but it remains to be seen what Botts thinks

To be fair though....
We don’t necessarily have to keep ROR to build down the middle though
Rodrigues scored at a .5pts/game pace
Asplund is probably ready by 19-20, if not now
Pu & Davidsson coming too

So if one (or more) of those guys can be a legit Center for us...
then maybe we can afford to move O’Reilly & still be strong down the middle

Just don’t move ROR for this mid1st & a decent prospect crap
That a BS return for a good player
Trading him has to bring back a core piece
Not a pick that could just as easily turn out to be Girgensons as it could McAvoy
Don’t give me the pick,
give me the “McAvoy” type prospect
Then I’m ok trading ROR
*as long as Botts is confident about 1 of the centers coming

I think waiting a year makes the most sense
We can find out more about these other centers, and it gives Mitts a year to establish himself instead of throwing him right into the 2C slot
And ROR should still have good trade value

Then it sets back this franchise 5 years and he is looking for a new job

Not saying that it's right or wrong but that is the reality

If he finds someone he absolutely loves then sure go for it, but NOBODY outside of the select few in that draft discussion has any idea what they are thinking and who they like

Just how “involved” are they though?
Are they just sitting at the table...
or are they dictating who we pick?

There’s a huge difference

She can sit there all she wants, if she overrides what the coach and GM want to do then there is a huge huge issue

We'd be right where we've been for 23 years since Jim Kelly retired. I'm fully in the 2 1sts, 2 2nds and 2 3rds camp. Get the guy. If they can avoid giving up next year's first, that's a HUGE win imo. If not, that's the price of doing business

They are "Allegedly" Very involved in the Sabres. Has not worked out well for them so far.

There has been no reason to not hire a Director/Czar of Football or Hockey other than they are playing that role in some way.

He’s an “ok” player

But it’s amusing to me how ppl on here bash guys that are actually good,
and are productive,
as being “overpaid”

And then turn around & ignore what little production we’d get from Pommer

10-12 goals for 5.6mil
How anyone can justify that is beyond me

That is the Giants's GM's opinion of the day. You can also say with no risk you get no reward.
