Playoffs, players start developing a grudge after seeing each other 2-3 games in a row, couple that with refs stuffing whistles in their pockets and players start forgetting where the line is. That’s why someone needs to take Kucherovs head off and remind him where the line is. - smellmyfinger
Stuffing their whistles in their pockets? You've had 13 power plays in 2 games including two 5 on 3's? PS All you Devils fans whining about the Kuch hit, watch NHL tonight and listen to your hall of famer Scott Stevens say it wasn't dirty at all, and then please stop crying.

In Stevens time if you had the puck you were a target to be hit. In current hockey he came in blindside, knocked our guy out of the game, and there wasn't a penalty.
Let's see your tone when one of your guys gets taken out. I'm sure you'll be in full support of it. |

That might've been the most frustrating game I've watched in my lifetime. I was ready to jump through the tv and crack kuch in the face. Bunch of dirt bags on that tampa squad. |

That hit was reminiscent of Rome on Horton... only difference is, Horton didn't have the puck. Vatanen got hot-potatoed, but Kucherov was gunning for him and hoping he got the puck.
To me, it's a two-game suspension at least... shoulder to head, blindside. It's a clear violation of 48.1

The league probably won't even acknowledge the hit. NHL.com headlines did acknowledge Kucherov's three points though. |

Reminded me of Doughty, he got 1, but he had prior run ins. I don’t think Kucherov has ever had any discipline issues, so I doubt he gets anything. |

I would pipe down if I were you. You likely have Boston next up. Purposefully injuring people is as en vogue in beantown as it apparently is in Tampa. Celebrating this type of play is a double edged sword. |

I agree with this, i dont believe it is similar to the rome/horton hit because having the puck is a huge part of the equation. In your opinion did you think doughty deserved the suspension? I also dont think the head was the main point of contact which is why there was no call on the ice, however the head was contacted during the check. If the head was the main point of contact on that hit, then a suspension would be obvious and i dont think Vatanen goes off the ice without a stretcher because that was a high speed hit. |

On the bright side the PK finally showed up, Cory played pretty well aside from the offside goal, and I was actually relatively impressed with how the D stepped up once Vatanen was out. Coleman had a great game. Hall for his standards didn't and unfortunately this team needs an all star performance from Hall to win a game like that.
Need more shots on goal. I felt, especially on the PP, they were looking for the perfect play a little too much and never actually getting it on net.
On the opposite end, need more zone clears. If there isn't a great breakout play just get it out of the zone. Way too many failed clearing attempts. |

Also Mojo coming back is a huge plus for us heading into next year.
With the core coming into focus and plenty of youth talent in the pipeline, this team is going to get better and better. This series was a little disappointing, but this absolutely was a great year.

Question about Mojo. He will be heading into the last year of his contract next season. Do we extend him and make him a core piece? Or do we trade him? Letting him walk is not an option. The Lou Lams days are over. |

I'd be happy to extend him long term as long as the contract isn't absurd. Could be a good move for both team and player...MoJo wasn't able to play enough this year to put up numbers to "demand" any sort of huge contract, but his injury concerns might make him feel like signing a long term deal now is a safe move for him. |

well yes I expected disappointment, but I was of course hoping for some magical synergy to propel them to great heights. Just not there yet, which is totally okay, but also disappointing to a certain extent at the same time, but not too much because we are leagues away from where we were. Lots of positives. |

NJ is fast and has more skill than ever before, compared to other NJ teams. But they are still going to lose the speed and skill battle to TBL on most nights.
They need to use their speed to crash the net and create chaos. Force TB to respond to their chaos. When the Devils start trying to get too fancy and too creative, TBL can go toe to toe and are far more opportunistic converting chances.
Back to Shoot-first mentality and crash the net for rebounds and dirty goals. |

I'd say 4-5 years, at 4.5 per. |

That would be great but I think he'd want more. He's at $4.5833 now |
