I Caddie at Alpine Country Club. Off the 7th hole (Par 5) Kovy's house has been being built since 2012. It basically looks finished. if he wants to come back and play here don't you think he would want to move into the home he has been building for years?

Lots of professional athletes rent out a place for the season. So it doesn't necessarily mean that since he has a home in NJ he is going to live there full time. But it has to be another inventive to playing in the tri state area. Plus if Kovy is being truthful in saying that he is looking for the right place for his family. It doesnt get much better than Alpine New Jersey. The schools are great. no crime. Great community for children.

He should say I really want to play for NJ, then we all/Shero should say not a chance. He screwed up now he wants to cake walk to a CUP like Fisher. Not earning any ounce of it.

He wants a cup. He wants cash. And he wants a nice city for his family.

He’s not coming for a cheap cup. Anyone that thinks any of these guys are not about cash first are delusional.

- Iggysbff

Most players are cash first but in His case it depends on how bad he wants to win, most teams that are considered Favorites to win the Cup won’t be able to pay him what he is worth on the free agent market so he either takes a discount or gets what he’s worth and lessens his chances at winning a cup either way he isn’t guaranteed a Cup so we will see

Wouldn’t be against the Devils signing him not really sure why so many fans take it personally that he left he actually did us a huge favor and possibly saved our franchise doubt the devils sale goes through with that contract still on the books

Coleman is f***ing annoying.

... also known as a guy I'd love on my team. But he isn't. So I hate him.

No kidding. I wish we had a good agitator. Palat is annoying to play against, but not that style of gamesmanship. Which, again, I appreciate objectivity....but during the game there is nothing objective about the expletives being directed at the TV.

Think Shero was hoping we Would get the Grabner from the Rangers who scores goals instead we got the grabner that was on the Isles a few seasons ago
- Devils314

Ya we have known for a long time that he is a terrible hockey player, but rather a pk specialist who gets a ton of short handed breakaways. Think he has about 6 primary assists over the past 2 seasons. If we keep him beyond the playoffs lets hope its no more than 1.5M as a 4th liner. Go Mojo and Schneids!!!!! Welcome back boys!

Todd what’s youre opinion on the spear by Hedman on Hischier? Suspension worthy? Or will he just be given a fine? IMO after what they suspended Doughty for they kind of have to do something about this
- Devils314

There should be something. I have been looking online all day but nothing so far. That hit on Coleman was dirty too. He clearly left his feet to hit him. Both of those bums should be suspended.

Nobody is getting suspended.

Kovy isn’t coming back to play in NJ.

And I doubt Cory’s problem was cramps and he’s probably hurt. In which case we’re (frank)ed.

Parise out (likely for the playoffs) again - wow. If somebody went back in time to Summer 2013 (post Parise and then Kovy leaving) and told me that 5 years later it would have worked out that we lost those two guys for nothing, not sure I would have believed them.

Just more proof in the pudding, anyone that leaves NJ ends their career one way or another. List is too long to mention.

Karma is a female dog. And both Parise and Kovy are getting their dose of it now. Don't stiff the Jersey Devil....he will get you in the long run!

It was easy for Raf being on an allstar team and Nieds is obv the exception. He would have done great on the island too.

I don't see any way we are keeping Grabner now.

Ray's not going to want to sign him because he'll be 31 next season and didn't fit in here. Also Grabner is unlikely to sign on the cheap anywhere. GMs will look at his larger body of work with the Rangers and use that production as the version they are hoping to sign. He'll get offered a contract way north of $ 1.5M.

I don't blame Ray for trying although I would have been glad to die having never seen a trade between the Devils and Rangers.

All spot on. More than anything we can take from this trade now (because Grabner shows complete indifference to being here) is that Shero sent a message to the team that he believed in them and was willing to back them up and support them with his deadline acquisitions. Shero continues to impress me.

Certainly sending just a third rounder and JD Dudek for Maroon was the better deal but Shero deserves a ton of credit for turning us into a respectable team again. Attendance is rebounding, the Rock is a better experience. The scoreboard is best in the league. The hockey is fast paced and exciting. Hopefully happy days ahead. Like tonight when we beat the lightning.
