As long as we don't trade him for Bogo part 2

I'm opposed to trading him btw. Just like Myers, to realize his full ability, he needs to be moved to the 2nd line.

Here's my $.02. Risto on a "winning Culture" team will be a Stud... He has it all, he can skate, great shot, plays with an edge, logs a poop ton of minutes, and is really not horrible on Defense. Problem is we over play him because we have to. This team leans HEAVILY on 2-4 players for everything. That is no way to win and make these players not "play the system" knowing they are relied on to do it all. This team needs better talent all the way around. Get rid of the dead weight, BOGO ( I like but is always hurt), ROR (lost that loving feeling), Okposo (if you can)

I don't want to trade Risto. Our D sux as it is.

I think Okposo will be ok honestly. He was never 100% last year, i think next year will be a big year for him.

What kind of return would you expect for Risto?

i think that kind of GM stupidity only comes around once a decade.

still, i think the return would be good for him. Probably better than ROR

I don't buy that losing ruins a player. Look at Hall. We just need more defensemen who are good

I would trade both ROR and Ristolainen ( if we win the lottery )

The pieces we could bring in could turn this team into a whole different direction

I don't buy it either, mostly cause all of Risto's numbers have gotten better. I just don't think he's a top pairing guy and the Sabres already have a handful of guys who can/will be able to play 2nd pair minutes.

I cant even imagine the crying when risto turns out to be a better defenseman than both zadarov and myers.

Risto needs work in the d end ,but it's going to be hard to replace his minutes, toughness and scoring.

if mitts, guhle, baptiste, bailey and Ullmark are on the roster as projected, that's five rookies added to the lineup, not even counting your boy Nylander...the sabres have erod, Antipin and possibly nelson coming back as full time nhl'ers for the first time in their careers next season...those eight or nine are on top of a core that probably begins with Eichel and reinhart who are entering their four full season...

it's a lot of youth to have within a losing culture

I find it really interesting what Hamilton said about him being at the top of the list of guys who haven’t listened to two coaches in a row now.
