Yeah, totally agree. I'd call this a lateral move at best. Taking out Gibbons and Grabner, you lose two of your fastest skaters. Seems like we're losing our speed advantage and, if that's true, what edge do we have?

I'd say that's a stretch. But I like the optimism.

Johansson is gona be so so rusty and blown away by the playoff speed/intensity.. but I hope I'm wrong. Glad to have him back! wish it was 3 games ago.

The Devils don't want to burn a year. The player wants to get added this year so he is one year closer to being a free agent. Presumably an RFA where he can negotiate something better the Entry Level Contract money. The devils offer to burn the year as an incentive to the player.

I have to say I fully support going to Schneider at this point regardless of how it turns out. Nothing against KK but it's not going well and Cory *should* be the man.

As for the rest of the lineup moves, I can't say I'm loving what Hynes is doing but there are a lot of tough choices to be made. Ultimately, I don't feel like any combo of moves isn't going to make a difference except for possibly the one in goal.

Now we rise?

Bratt should be in. Lovejoy should be out. Everything else I'm fine with.
