Can confirm #Isles have not contacted #NJDevils for permission to speak with assistant GM Tom Fitzgerald.

If any of what Botta is saying is true, they'll get a call after the Lightning knocks them out.

It really would explain a lot Cpt. Ledecky cannot be pleased with all the negative attention and he did not seem happy at all during that conference and I do not think it was an act. I just hope it all works out and a new GM is hired. Rather have an experienced GM, but Fitzgerald seems to be a solid choice if it turns out to be him.
- ses111

I said this after the press conference and I'll say it again I'm pretty sure snow and weight weren't supposed to feel so safe in their jobs let alone leak that to the press. I believe if they go that may have been the straw that broke the camel's back.

You would think JT would want to explore his options on 7/1? I'm not sure if the Isles bring in another GM before 7/1 if that changes anything? It would at least give JT something else to think about regarding the Isles.
- ses111

JT cant visit any other teams until this summer, so that's why he's still undecided. He's waiting to be wined and dined.

I’m so done with this JT thing. My focus is on the Isles hopefully getting a new GM and then the attention can turn to JT.

He might not be able to "visit", but there are certainly "conversations" & "chance run-ins on the golf course" that can take place. There are ways around the rules in place. Why do you think every year there are signings that are announced but can't actually take place until 7/1.

He's got something on somebody. Nobody as dumb as Snow should be able to run anything more than a baby rattle.

They kept milbury on but be had no say in any hockey decisions after he stepped down. It's on the podcast vukota posted. So he can be kept and gave no say on hockey ops and just bring over kids for isles tournament's etc
- Upstate_isles

Which is exactly what will be done with Snow if in fact he stays. Basically what the new Carolina Hurricanes ownership just did.
Have to believe if Lou comes or someone of that caliber they won’t be GM under Snow. No phucking way.
Obviously somethings happening and all Islander Fans can only hope, what ever it is it stifles and negates Snow from making any and all hockey related decisions.

Three straight OT games for Cap/Jackets. That's crazy stressful for the fans.

Crazy, PO hockey at its finest. I find myself routing for the Caps because I feel so bad for them being so good in the reg season and just failing in the POs for so long.

I'm a bitter Islander fan - I feel bad for no one! Let Snow be their GM for 15 years and I'll consider it.

I liked the Caps teams in the past with Langway, Hatcher, Iafrate. I cannot root for these Caps.

I don't even like Ovechkin. I don't deny his talent, I just never liked him.

I agree. He is another offensive type player and he seems to have zero leadership skills. Ovie being obsessed with the Olympics rubs me the wrong way as well.

Actually I can, tough guy plays hard went from the 4th line to the 1st line. Hard work paid off for him.
Can’t hate a tough guy just because our team is a bunch off pussies.
Forgetting about Tom Wilson just watching how tough these team in the POs are playing shows me just how much the Islanders would have gotten their asses kick by any of these teams

Thankfully we don't have to deal with that kind of stress.

As a Caps fan, that would suck. To know you're going to have one of the best regular season teams but fail to make it past the 2nd round every has got to be frustrating. At least we know going in to each season that the Isles are going to suck and if they make the playoffs, it'll be by backing in at the end of the season. Usually because of losses by other teams.

Our only stress is dealing with the lack of defense, goaltending, coaching, management, offensive depth, talent in the pipeline, owners with a pair of stones, the ice, an arena, JT's will he-won't he crap and that damned SUV in the corner. We're much better off.

It's true about most of the Isles players but Wilson sure showed toughness running away from Johnston.

They're thinking promotion and pay raise and I don't blame them. I mean come on he just told the world he built a Stanley Cup contender that didn't even make the playoffs in the last two seasons! What other GM can say that?

Good point, cpt. I mean lots of teams have won Stanley Cups after making the playoffs. Garth wants the Islanders to be the first team in history to win the Cup after FAILING to make the playoffs.
