Just a pothole along the way.....Jets will re-group.
The whole team was flat. Our leadership group won't allow that to happen on Tuesday.

They laid an egg. Will not win 16 in a row so I am positive they will bounce back like they have all year.

The travel time Sat and Sun didn't help much imop. First, on Sat, flying enroute to Minny, get diverted to Duluth. Sit on the tarmac for 2 hours, then back to Wpg. I bet that whole ordeal including getting to and back from the airport took 8 hours at least. Not optimum to have athletes cooped up in an airplane for a day.

Then, fly back to Minny on Sunday. Oh, its only an hour flight, you say? Yeah, but I bet you are looking at 3 - 4 hours by the time you get to the airport, go through security, get on the f-----g airplane, fly, get off the f-----g airplane, drive to the hotel, then to the rink. This assisted in egg laying.

I agree with one of the posters yesterday, poor frickin planning to get the team to Minny as everyone knew this storm was coming.

I travel a fair bit and travelling is a pain in the @$$. I will not accept that Saturday and Sunday travel did not impact the energy of this team.

Having said this, I do agree with Pete's summary as well in terms of taking the bait, luck on goals, etc.

I have confidence that the team will bounce back in the next game! Go Jets!

Exactly CharlieDog - I didn't factor in customs, boarding or driving time in my calculations yesterday.

Anyway, moving on. The Jets need to respond big time tomorrow, the lack of response from them in the 3rd honestly concerns me. The Wild sent a clear message after game 2 that they are willing to do whatever it takes to get back in the series, we however, just went quietly into the night.

Goaltending and coaching were my biggest concerns going into this series. Helly has played great this year, but he does have the penchant for having an occasional really bad game and letting some softy's in. Last night was the bad game, he was down way too early and down way too often. Throughout the year, he has bounced back in a big way - I expect that for Game 4.

The PP needs to adjust big time. The zone entries were not good and they need to move their feet and rotate guys into different spots on the ice.

It would also help if Scheifele and Trouba decided to make an appearance. Schiefele needs to play tougher and get his ass in front of the net.

I'm still going with the Jets in 5!

That was the Wild's rally game ... travel problems or not - doesn't surprise me they took game 3

Game 4, on the other hand, is incumbent that we win

I am reserving any potential concerns until after game 4

Keith, I agree. I expected Minny to win Game 3 - the travel just made the uphill battle even tougher. I feel the same way about Game 4, if Dubnyk steals this 1 then there will be reason for concern.

No real reason for concern until you lose at home. Especially when you have home ice like the Jets do. If the home team wins every game, Jets in 7.

When you have the 2 best home records in the league going head to head it's going to be touch to win on the road.

Yup! Jets will bounce back tomorrow night. They played quite well throughout the second half and just had a few bad breaks. They will be their dominant selves tomorrow night. Plus now REXYPOO can see his favourite team play with his most disliked D man on the IR

The injury on Tyler Myers, while apparently dirty, will never be seen as that by the league .
- Peter.Tessier

I guess I don't understand how this was considered a "dirty" hit? What if anything about it was dirty? Foligno went to a knee to block Myers and essentially his momentum slid him into Myers. I saw nothing in the replay that looked even remotely egregious or like intent to deliver a dirty hit.

Watch the replay - he intentionally punched at the back of his knee to knock him off balance. It should be a suspension.

Suspension? LOL ok. If you say so. This is what would be referred to as a "knee jerk" reaction. Pun intended.

Punching at a guys knee is not a hockey play and caused an injury. It was at the very least dirty. Like it or not the NHL does suspend players based on the outcome (injury). If there was no injury, then I would agree that there not be a suspension. He deserves 1 game for it.

Just give him the standard punishment for a punch to the back of the knee while falling.

Jets or any pro sports teams, do not endure what we average air travellers have to go thru with respect to boarding, customs, deplaning, etc...

I could honestly care less if he is suspended or not, but if you watched the reply and can not see he deliberately punched at the knee then you clearly either have horrible eyesight or refuse to admit it was a dirty play. Dirty plays happen all the time from both sides, its just part of the game. The only reason we are seeing this one in slow motion is because Myers got hurt.

It's like last year when Johnny Hockey got hurt against Minny and someone slowed down the tape to show he got slashed on the hand 75 times by Minny.

It's ok, they are a smaller, weaker and not as good team that is looking for angles to win, cant blame them at all. Jets will be fine.

The 1st period hit on Trouba (Foligno again) was one that could have been looked at by the league, similar to the Doughty hit in that he missed by a few inches and got the head, knocking the helmet back. Foligno is walking a fine line, which is good playoff hockey, and he got away with it this time.

MnGump - that hit will be debated until the cows come home ... otherwise, Foligno played outstanding - he played desperate

I would like to revisit my previous comment about "beast mode" ... seems to me your Wild brought that last night !

Exactly Benny.

They would normally have gone through the private terminal for charter flights, or possibly pre-screened and right on the bus. However in this particular case no one left the plane so it was basically wheels down in Duluth, play some more Snarples while waiting, get the call to go back to the Peg and then wheels up and back in Winnipeg in an hour. Total might have been 4 to 4 1/2 hours . Not exactly energy draining but at the same time the episode can throw of the "rhythm " of the team.

That was the play that made me turn my head. Trouba managed to turn away and basically avoid the hit but there is no doubt in my mind that it was a charging penalty and should have been called. Foligno definitely took more than three steps.....more like 10 actually.

"Charging is a penalty in ice hockey. Rule 42 of the NHL rulebook dictates that charging "shall mean the actions of a player or goalkeeper who, as a result of distance traveled, shall violently check an opponent in any manner."

How the ref missed that one is beyond me !

Foligno better be watching his back for the rest of the series because in Buff and Lowry's eye's he just became public enemy number 1

Well no one ever wants to willfully admit any player on their team engages in dirty play. That being said, yes, it's debatable, and in my honest opinion I didnt' think it looked like the intent was to "get away" with anything dirty. I think he was simply trying to make a play by preventing Myers to shoot/pass while taking him out of the play.

I think it was an awkward play all around that ended awkwardly in the unfortunate injury of a Jets player. I in no way believe Foligno was trying to hurt him. But yes, he was playing desperate, maybe a bit reckless at times, that I will agree with. But it was expected with the way the Wild players had been man handled in the first 2 games.

I hope Myers heals quickly. Having said that, I hope he comes back 100% healthy, and 100% not playing. Chiarot needs to go, too. That pairing caused 4 goals against by way of stupidity.

Morrow has been passable so far, but a Toby/Poolman 3rd pairing is a must going forward.

Not as concerned about Myers and Chiarot as I am about Schiefele.

Usual exaggeration by the kid. For the record, Chariot and Myers were on as a pair for 2 goals . Myers also has 2 goals and an assist so far in the series. If he is injured then its a big loss for the Jets. The tire fire so far in the series has been Trouba , and no doubt Chariot definitely had a bad game three.

Yes. Where has Scheif been. Wheeler was nowhere after that first goal. We need Hendricks back in this lineup ASAP if not just to motivate like he does shift after shift and to settle down the PK.
