Are you remaining silent about the Icehogs - Wolves series which begins Saturday at the Horizon? Can you paint a picture whereas Vegas' other team - albeit farm team - is upset. I see goal scoring as Rockford's biggest challenge. Otherwise they look tough.

* Wiz recently had commentary/remarks to myself about some who mis read on Edgsell. I ponder this tall talented big swede might have a moment here or there where he sets up or scores. Often star players do not go full bore actually practicly the opposite in backchecking and board scrimmages because that is a recipe for a premiere talented smaller player to get injured (believe it!). If you have a good memory perhaps you recall a few instanes where Kane was backchecking marvelously - one playoffs series i recall.

Suffice to say about Kane and Panarin: both are really good. Kane has been a money player in playoff years where we had a better team around him.

Kane is a superstar and will enter the Hall of Fame of Hockey after he hangs em up. He isn't flawless, isn't a "banger" a brilliant defensive player, but he's able to drive offenses to multiple Stanley Cups...it's simply amazing a so-called Hawks fan could HATE this guy so much, a guy who was instrumental in THREE Stanley Cups and scored the game winner in 1 of them. And he was crude, there were a good number of guys on Clark street who wanted to kick his ass, and they had legit reasons. But he grew up, even if it was eventually. Or that just because a guy was part of a team that won three cups that somehow makes every player on that team even guys who played two games all year and got their name on the cup or any player at all on a cup winner better than every other player in the league who didn't win one? That's the logic behind what you are saying, that any player who was on a cup winner is way better than any player who wasn't. Dig yourself. Panarin was better than Kane this year and exposed Kane. Live with it. Anybody should have seen this coming. Then the goalie went down with no backup plan. Etc etc. All mgt failures. It is no surprise this demoralized team finished in last place.

My bad. You’re right, Panarin is now better than Kane, this was the absolute worst trade in the history of hockey (worst by far in Hawk history...Phil who?), and we really all did see this coming. Panarin, in his three NHL years, has proven to be a superstar in the making. He continues to develop positively along those lines. I would say further the trade to Columbus has speeded this up for him. I do not see anyone else on the Blue Jackets with his dynamics.
I also still like getting Saad back, I like his whole game. Particularly, I like his PK minutes, something the 'Hawks were sorely lacking in once Kruger was lost.
There is still plenty of room for this trade to be a win-win for both teams.

All that being said, seeing Panarin taking a two-hander across the chops late in Game 4 against the Predators last year with no 'Hawk pushback, after seeing Toews ragdolled the entire series with no pushback was the very saddest period of Blackhawk playoff hockey I have ever witnessed. If you are going to have superstars, you MUST protect them. ESPECIALLY in the playoffs.
