And so it begins...

Patrick Sharp on nbc

Go Sharpie.

Heard this was a route that he wanted to go. He looked good!

He's been thinking about life after jockey for a few years now and build his "brand" on camera has always been of interest to him.

You guys can female dog all you want about the Panarin deal, and have a legit agrument, but, after watching a few games in the playoffs, I still say after all these years the guy the Hawks miss the most come playoff time;

Big Buff!

Just destroys people. I miss me some big buff.

Children.... Children!!! Let's cut it out with the name calling. I've been warned from the higher ups that bans will be coming if you guys can't play nice.

If you (meaning anyone) isn't happy with what someone else is posting, either present a peaceful arguement back and debate like adults or don't say anything at all. Just pretend the poster doesn't exist and carry on with your life.

What kills me the most about Panarin is how Panger won't shut up about him. And the guy calling the game is saying here "he" comes again.. It just doesn't end. I'm wondering if that isn't meant to bust SB's chops because of a general dislike for him.

Justin,

With all due respect,

Goalie-33 has received enough time outs to curb his asinine comments on this site.

He drags it down every time he posts - and the "moderators" continue to allow it.

The only purpose he has here is to incite the other posters - he is the classic definition of an internet troll - and the people who run this site refuse to follow through on their tough talk.

The Hawks blog page has degenerated since John left it to you - and it's morons like Goalie-33 that are bringing it down.

He obviously can't take a hint - maybe it's time for the higher ups on HB to show they can.

Justin,
Respectfully, the "Higher ups" need to deal with the trolls (two in particular). It has been going on for years now and nothing gets done. And now threats from the higher ups, come on!

You know you read the Athletic piece on Panarin and how he grew up, the struggles, the battles, and how he EARNED his place in the NHL....and honestly, I could give 2 craps how he busted tail to earn all his bonus money last spring....Good for him, and if hind sight is 20-20 if my boss told me if you do X, you get Y....would I exhaust all rescources to do it? Of course.

Then I sit here and watch him dominating games....and I all think about is Bowman getting fleeced.....You want Saad? Sure.....you want Forsberg? why not.....and then you read about Columbus not being happy with Saad's lack of urgency and it all makes sense....and before the hawk apologists coming steam rolling in, realize this is the best beat writer source in the game.....from Columbus....stuff the McKenzie's, dregers, can't touch.

Sadly, McDonough puppets like Rozner come out in full force to defend the organization colossal blunder.

This team just gave away a legit super star to cater to their aging, captain.........

- SteveRain

Absolutely spot on SR !

The decisions that MANAGEMENT made last sumner have proven to be disastrous. And I don't want to hear that it takes several years to determine how trades play out. That's BS in this situation. The plain fact is that missing the playoffs and playing emotionless, heartless, Ho Hum hockey, specifically at home where we season ticket holders pay HUGE dollars for it, should say enough about those trades.

The problem is......nobody in this organization is being held accountable for the total decline of this team, and, as a long time season reservation holder
(Pully), and fear the worst is ahead because of this.

So......this summer will tell me if ANYBODY up there knows HOW to rebuild a team, and stop placing the majority of the blame on Corey Crawford's injury. STOP PLEASE !!

Most of us here know the issues and realize your mistakes. Own up to them and do something about it !!

Rocky, Mac, SB, Q and Captain 19 are on my clock for 2018/2019. Another year of terrible MANAGEMENT decisions will be the final straw and ultimately determine
if this long time STH will continue.

File this in the careful what you wish for bin. The last time “mods” were invited in posters began being banned for a number of silly things as arbitrarily interpreted by The Mod who frequented here.

Of course no one really cared as the rumor cup was plentiful.

I’ve enjoyed the new board as mostly adult discussions are allowed to happen. As much as the troll posts may annoy you...scroll past, don’t read, treat them as a goof but just don’t hit reply.

A wise man once posted a “Don’t feed the trolls” meme, but do you really need the visual aid?

I agree i'm tired of hearing that because Crawford was out that's why the hawks missed the playoffs that's bullsh*t pitt NJ LA Phily Col etc.. all had their goalies out for extended periods of time and made the playoffs. In my opinion the hawks failed to make the playoffs due a poorly constructed team weak down the middle weak on defense and lack of size and speed on the wings. Decline play of veterans poor coaching all around the lost of panrin hammer hossa TT TVR darling and never replaced any of those players. Rutta Forsling Gus Oestrele and murphy all failed in my mine. There is a reason why they are in the AHL or only a depth d man because they cannot play defense in the NHL continually out of position cannot clear the front of the net cannot clear the puck when needed or get the puck to forwards on transition. Seabrook and Keith are also to blame but when you have different d partner seem like every game and have to compensate for the other d man that continue to make the same mistakes i'm sure those two felt they had to do more than they usually had to which leads poor defensive play. Q again had his blender going shuffling dcat all over a credit to him to being the only bright spot of the whole season. He is top 6 lw/rw forward figure out what side and stay with it.

So this offseason is extremely big for the hawks but of course we have bowman who's track for trading and drafting is not very good he needs to hit a home run with the first pick wherever they pick in the to 10. Needs in my opinion are

2 centers
at least 2 defense man with nhl experience
a top 6 sniper or power forward
2 or 3 big nasty forwards with size physicality and speed like in boston with the 50's line.
a new pp coach
Need to trade hossa's contract

Now hopefully some of these players come from within others through smart creative trades and drafting

The clock won't start until the playoffs end in Mid-June.

What we should be hoping for between now and then is that they are doing a complete and thorough evaluation of what this team is, what this team has, what this team needs, and what this team can and should realistically become for next season and the couple of seasons after.

INCLUDING somehow getting a realistic handle on where the cap is likely to go.

Then that they develop a plan to get there.

Then the clock starts - comes the draft in June and free agency and action early on so that delay doesn't lock them out of doing what needs to be done.

Last time people were calling for a ref on the Hawks thread he turned out to be a huge wiener and was on a constant power trip banning people left and right.

Be careful what you guys wish for. Just man up and deal with it. Let the guy have his fun.

EDIT: HawkintheD beat me to it with his post haha.

So here is a survey question. Would Q bench a young Bobby Orr because he rushes up the ice too much?
- FourOrr

What Q or any other coach would have to install is an awareness and responsibility in the other 4 skaters to recognize when Orr (or Gus or Oesterle) leads or joins the attack that the last forward becomes the 2nd defender.

Also after Orr joined the attack he was very responsible not to linger or float in the offensive zone. He made his push and then very quickly reestablished his defensive position.

Its a team game all 5 players need to be aware of what is happening and react accordingly.

Doh, I usually like reading your posts but to even type 56's or 82's name in the same sentence, let alone same paragraph (or book) where Bobby Orr is mentioned is just plain wrong.

Hopefully the hockey gods will forgive you for this egregious post.
I do, btw, agree with the rest of your post!

Nice pickup there. If the window is closed the Bettman cap guess that proved to be way wrong just before Toews and Kane were signed was the beginning of the end. I'm don't think SB by himself is to blame for any of that.

Are you serious? Trading Panarin doesn’t make a blip in NHL history. By the way you talk you’d think Panarin was traded for hockey pucks. A younger Saad came back in that trade as did Forsberg. Good news though - strong rumour that not only is Columbus erecting a statue after only one season but Chicago is erecting one in honour of his 2 seasons here.

Who would have thought the Knights would sweep the Kings.

What kind of pathetic team can only score 3 goals in a playoff series. That’s absolutely terrible, LA should fold their franchise.

- DarthKane

You know when people say any team has a chance once they make the playoffs, so not true. Kings like the Hawks all in for all those years have become one line teams with one really good defenseman.

The only teams that really have a shot are, Pens, Bolts, Preds, Peg, LVGK, on the fence with the Sharks
