Don’t get me wrong, big free agent signings are always exciting/fun, but I rather us spend the cap on more support guys than a lead guy. I think with G, Couts, Jake, TK, Lindblom, Patrick we have enough “top end” talent where we need the proper support guys to lift the weight off the listed players. I know a 3C will be a need with Filp departing and potentially even a defenseman when Manning is done and if even Gudas is traded. It’s really going to be an interesting offseason and I agree moves will be made. Hexy has a ton of ammunition heading into the draft and could even end up with more trading Simmonds, trading a 1st, or even trading a d-prospect (my least favorite if a move). I’m very curious out the D is going to look.

Ghost/Provy/Amac are locks, but if Hagg can’t even crack line up now and management was sour on the idea of Too many young d men, I highly doubt we see all of Morin, Sanheim, Hagg or Myers up next year so maybe on is moved or packed with another asset. A lot of possibilities, glad I’m not GM!

I believe Morin is out of waiver options so I would be shocked if he isn't on the team

then don't act like i'm being all unreasonable in the future lol

if you wanna dance then let's dance, don't tease me

I have not stated that your reasons for exploring a trade of Simmonds were unreasonable. You're comment about Knuble and what he made was however. Which is why I called you on it.

Agreed. But the PP was garbage tonight, so a change might help. And more importantly, I don't think moving Patrick off the top PP unit is going to impact him all that much but it might just get Simmonds going. At the very least, rotate them a time or two and see what happens. Not sure how much it could hurt.
- wolfhounds

I don't think the switch between Simmonds and Patrick is that an insane idea. It will likely make his minutes look less pathetic and he might actually score a goal.

It seems as though you have a reading comprehension problem. There have been many statement made on Simmonds and many reasons given for trading Simmonds. If you would actually read what I've stated and followed along, you'd know that and that I agree with some, disagree with others. That is my right to state that. . If you're going to continue with the juvenile and ridiculous comments, I'm not interested in that.

Personal attack, REALLY???

I have been nothing but respectful to you through out and you have to come at me?

REALLY???

Hextall's got a lot of decisions to make. They definitely need to get a solid 3c in here I think that's their biggest need at this point. I feel like both Gudas and Manning are probably done as Flyers and I hope Morin finally gets a shot next season as well. I wanna see them go with a young d core of mostly home grown guys just to see what they have in them. If it doesn't work out I'm sure one of them could always be traded.

I want to see this on D next season

I fully expect Morin to start the year with us. But you never know with a trade package. Say a top 10 draft pick team says Simmonds+Morin for our pick; would you consider? Although Morin is coming off injury filled season. But his size is enticing for anyone imo.

You always want everyone else to provide evidence for their arguments but when you are asked to do so you don't want to, very interesting

Yup, I think so too. Minor adjustment which could have a positive impact. Simmonds isn't very noticeable right now, but part of that is certainly his line. Seems like he had decent chemistry with Weal when they played together. Anyway, I definitely make a tweak or two to get Simmonds going if I'm Hak.

If the Flyers trade Morin they will regret it. Players with that kind of size don't come around often and I think he could be an absolute beast for us in the playoffs. They gotta give him a chance to show what he can do before they even think of trading him.

Nonsense. I have not asked a single poster to provide any proof of players declining into their 30's. I haven't done so because I already know it happens.

You and I have had a number of interactions just on this thread. If you'd like I'd be happy to show you where I did provide proof and facts to counter your comments. I know you and others don't like it when I effectively refute your statements so then you resort to this nonsense.

Caps were up 3-1, if they don't get Holtby in there to start the 3rd they are clueless. I wish we played the Caps man, we definitely could have beaten them

I'm looking forward to Morin's 'snarl'. Flyers could use a bit of that in the lineup, as long as he doesn't take dumb penalties in the playoffs, cause we've got enough of that right now.

The case for NP over Train PP1

-Simmonds has been unarguably limited this season
-NP carries a highly regarded skillset parlayed by a statistically backed positive second half of the season
-A rigid veteran reliant coach pulled the trigger on this move
-MJL is on the other side of the argument (this is the strongest evidence it should be so)
