Leafs with Tavares, and Nylander at C, just for funzies.
Hyman-Matthews-Johnsson
Marleau-Tavares-Marner
Kapanen-Kadri-Brown
Grundstrom-Nylander-Bracco
Maybe shift the RWs around a bit to get a Swedish trio line. - Feeling Glucky?
Bring it on baby!!!

Not even 3 Sens, a goalie, and a terrible angle can stop him. |

Marner has never played center in the NHL, you do not experiment against that line. no way - Santo_44
They better experiment with something cause clearly what ever they're doing sucks. |

i think very soon Liljegren will be in that category.
Rest I agree with you - although personally I'd definitely consider giving up Nylander if that means getting a legit young D-man in return (Hanifin, Jones - or can I dream, PK).
Personally I'd add Hyman as well to that list - as strange as that sounds.
for the specific role he's fulfilling, you can't get a better and cheaper option - MaximusAurelius
Add Brown too. For the money you won't get as good a compete player. Put him with better than Bozie and JVR and the goals will come back as well. |

This all actually sounds like one of the better plans Babs could go with.
Having Kadri out really limits his options. I think we need to get Matthews away from the Bergeron line if we're going to have any hope in winning.
Giving Pleks a chance to redeem himself as the shutdown guy and then giving him the best wingers to help him accomplish the task seems about as good of an option as any we have available. - Thecakeisalie
Im faster on the ice with my sneakers on then Pleks. |

I’d swap Leivo and Marleau. I was thinking that if we don’t get a 3C this offseason, Marleau-Nylander-Marner would be a good line, and Johnsson-Kadri-Kapanen/Brown another.
Kadri is pretty established as a 2-way C, so having two young 2-way wingers would be a good match, and the Nylander line has 3 guys who can all play C, even though Marleau doesn’t want to, and neither Nylander nor Marner have established themselves... it’s a good opportunity for them to grow, while Marleau helps with some of the heavy lifting, if need be. - Feeling Glucky?
That's true, but it deters from the reason I put Brown with Pleks, to make a shutdown line without Matthews, Kadri or Komarov.
They need to get Matthews away from Bergeron, at least for game 3. So is Nylander going up against Bergeron?
Probably not, so Pleks may be the next best option. He has it in him, he hasn't showed it yet but this would be as good as time as any. |

At leats your team made it to the possible cup round . They will learn what is more needed going forward. Good luck on accomplishing that . Really. |

wow, I see it completely the opposite.
Jones as a dman on a much weaker team outscored Johansen this year. Nashville didn't get Chiarelli'd on the deal, but Jones is one of, if not THE best young Dman in the league. - Aetherial
What is Jones going to do with Subban and Josi ahead of him in the prime minutes?
Johansen was what they needed.
Nashville has the best top-4 in the game and a top defense prospect in Fabbro coming up. It's why they're such a well oiled machine that can deal multiple top pairing defenders and never miss a beat. Think about it. They've dealt Suter, Weber, Timonen and Jones. They STILL have two number one defensemen and have had one the entire time.
Insanity. |

*they didn’t trade Suter*
Maybe the Leafs should hire Poile so he can draft us some top defenders. |
