NYR signing history is pretty bleak. The players may have enjoyed it but we fans have not. That being said at least I have faith Gorton won't make a stupid signing like the Kamesky/Ulanov days. Kovy may be a short deal for a 35 year old but if its a speed rebuild like Boston a few years back and its a 2-3 year deal at least that makes sense. I'm ok skipping JT for NYR. Signing rival greats hasn't worked out well either and he won't come here anyway. |

Hall, Tavares, Nico, Palmieri, Zacha, etc would be a pretty sick forward core, but this team can’t be seen as legit until they address a very mediocre D. - smellmyfinger
So basically the same as the Isles. |

Going to Vegas. - RafiDRW
This. The last thing he'd likely want to do is go somewhere that doesn't have a legitimate Cup contender. Plus, in Vegas he'd be instantly elevated to top dog and they have tons of cap space to work with. |

I think if Vegas goes out and spends a huge amount on a UFA this summer then their team dynamic gets squashed. All these castaways playing their best hockey aren't going to want a big name coming in and taking all the extra cap room - they're playing extremely well and want that to get paid for it for once. I know it's the business, but I think that's the easiest way to kill this team's mojo. If they flop next season then you look into outside hires.

The Isles have better offensive players than the Devils. Barzilla. Bailey. Eberle. Lee. Beauvillier. |

Rangers are happy to make the playoffs and win a few games. They don't even try to build a true contender anymore. Bring in a few stars, the fans show up, make a few $$$...
Yankees wouldn't make it in a salary cap league either. |

Not denying Seidenberg said that but I don't know if he is JT's inner circle or just a guy with a feeling. I also don't know if JT would be tipping his hand to everyone on the team or just his super close knit friends and even then it isn't official until the ink is dry... plus Jt and his Fiance bought house in Garden City so not sold on her pushing for a relocate - jmoney4080
No they didn’t. They just bought a place at Ritz Carleton 2 years ago. JT is not in Garden City

most recently 1994 and then 1940? - TheGame316
I thought the Oilers won it in 1994. Oh wait...no the Rangers bought all the players from Edmonton for quite possibly the most questionable Stanley Cup title ever. What a sham |

Ek says JT isn't going to the Rangers which basically means its as good as signed.
If he gives JT to NYR an E4 or E5 I will give up hope and assume it's dead |

2017 Dodgers were at $225mil, Detroit was second at $199.75 million and the Yankees, third at $195 million. The Yankees had not been outside the top two since 1993.
So far in 2018 they are in 7th, but it's early. |

Maybe - but that has nothing to do with being successful, which at the end of the day is what matters.
