7-3 I wish I'd seen it
- VANTEL

Best thing you missed was the camera returning to the bench a number of times on a pouting Matthews. Then after the game he brushes it off with the "what ever... its hockey" comment.

That is not any kind of leader I want in the playoffs.

If they do not unscrew Babcock's lower jaw and release some tension he is going to snap and swallow his own face.

I hope someone here knows how to make a gif of him swallowing his own face. Yes. That would be nice.

Seen that on twitter earlier I thought they drafted 16 not 12?
- VANTEL

I had heard 16 during the game too but maybe they were talking about 4 guys who were sitting in the press box.

Home teams dominating so far.

Only the battle of Pennsylvania series is split 1-1.

SJ won both on the road in Anaheim.

If McCann was playing with Marchand and Bergeron he would probably be doing pretty well
- 1970vintage

Oh give me a - (frank)in - break!!! That kid is doing some special things on his own. Stop it!! A lot of teams passed on him, we just happened to be one of them. Boston seems to make some good picks mid first, late first and in the second round.

Maybe Marchand started putting up career numbers when he started playing with Pastrnak two years ago

Pastrnak had decent numbers in his draft year. 24 points in 36 games in the Allsvenskan league.

EP had 41 in 43 games. High 1st
JD had 29 in 51 games. Mid 2nd

He was drafted probably where he should have been. Nobody had any idea how he would turn out at the time he was drafted.

Stop pouting over hindsight. You can be pathetic in the mornings. Maybe you should go visit the Leafs thread to cheer up.

I think he was ranked mid first and yeah no one could've predicted he'd be this good. If you're not picking 1-2-3 it's a bit of a crapshoot.

I think it is hilarious. Thought they would be complaining more about not having Matthews in the lineup.

you go (frank) your hat I can talk about whatever I want to. Just funny so many teams pass on at least one or two great kids every year like Boeser, Pastrnak, Barzal, Larkin, Debrusk, McAvoy, Aho, etc.

Boston has done it a lot lately???

I've been saying this for the last couple of weeks. You look at the best players from drafts that aren't top 10 or even 1st or 2nd round picks. The players had good junior numbers. OR they played in a higher league then juniors and still had good numbers.

Sebastian Aho (Carolina) almost a half ppg in Liiga taken 35OA.
Barzal had 57 points in 44 games. That's almost a 90 point pace. That's top 5 worthy.

Point had 91 points in 72 games. 79OA

The self pity and rage in the Leafs thread is heart warming. You need to go back to work.

Not that well.

Maybe, maybe not. If McCann had been drafted by the Bruins he almost certainly would have played his final season of junior hockey, then started in the AHL and worked his way up to the NHL, he could of ended up being a totally different player. Or not, we’ll never know.

This is true, they soak their kids unless they really show they belong. DeBrusk is a good example of that. Two more years of junior I think (maybe one because of his age) and then one in the AHL. They invested in him and he's turning out great.

Fair enough, that’s totally possible. Their 2015 picks are a little more up in the air. DeBrusk has had a great season, their other two picks look to be playing ok in the minors. That 2015 first round looks to have been very strong, almost everyone is contributing in the NHL already!
