Going to be pretty embarassing for Wood. If that's not a goal. Could've kept whacking away instead of throwing his arms up in celebration.

Seeing a lot of negativity in here, which is understandable, but this is the lightning. Give the team some credit for what they have accomplished this year.
On a side note I only started watching halfway through but from what I have seen Zacha has been playing great at both ends. Nice to see his growth since the beginning of the year.

We're hard on them because they've made some asinine plays. our D coach has always been questionable, and this group of dmen has piss poor overall. You don't have to be a superstar to not make stupid plays. Tampa has played great, of course, we all know that.

The players with the best face off percentage are slightly weighted coinflips. It's almost a random event. Don't take too much stock in it.

Go with Schneider game 3 and hope he regained his confidence after this 3rd period. Put in Bratt.

Zajac has pulled the hardest defensive assignments all year and for the past few season but he hasn't done himself any favors with his lack of offensive talent. Even tonight there were a few times we could've gotten back in it if he had a bit more going for him.

"WITH 41 OF 45 saves including a breakaway save Against Miles Wood"

No you idiot. That was a slash by Hedman which resulted in no shot. Hope it goes back to the home broadcast for the next game

Yeah I know this is true and the defence is lacking some talent, but it is what it is. The team is inexperienced in the playoffs and taking on a cup favourite. Try to take away the positives of the situation.

Goddamn is right....call it a day. This team is obviously not even close to contention. Now, what do we do for goaltending. Schneider is toast, Kincaid let TEN goals pass him in TWO games, and yeah, blah, blah the defense this and that. I was going on and on about trading Corey early in the season before the league discovered he had become Swiss cheese and we could have landed something good. His best play was wasted with a crap team on the ice. It’s a shame really.

Thankfully Grabner was sat. Put Bratt and gibbons in take Grabner lovejoy out.

Give Cory game 3. When he came in the team got a boost and he made some solid saves nothing to lose at this point.

After a while, you get really, REALLY effing tired of having to look for positives when some of these clowns play like something far less than NHL caliber players. I wish, actually, that we had completely tanked this season and had 70 losses and we could grab a decent pick. Now it’s back to spinning our wheels unless we can convince someone to sign with us. Nope, right now, NO positives. You handled the Lightning in the regular season...so what gives? And after game one you say “we didn’t come out ready” does that sound like a team that gives a FUG? WHO CANT COME READY TO PLAY IN THE FIRST GAME OF THE PLAYOFFS IN 5 YEARS?!?!?

It's not even like Tampa is out playing us... We are getting beating ourselves... Tons of poor defensive mistakes and turnovers...

Boyle needs to sit, we need speed and its obvious he does not bring it to the Table... Which means we might need a center it would be cool to see michael mcleod be recalled because at this point what do we got to lose, he brings speed to the table and put bratt on his wing and see what happens.

Sit smackjoy, put in bratt...problem solved. Take that 2nd period away and this would have been a much closer game. Yes, im sure Tampa was sitting back with such a cushy lead, but the Devs can play when you don't have garbage on the ice like that useless jock strap of a defenseman. I'm still excited for 3 and 4...and no, I'm not intoxicated

Devils should or better draft Vitali Kravtsov, RW and had a very solid season in the KHL.

To the PP coach, why is Hall and Palmieri on the opposite sides?

Palmieri has the hardest slap shot on the team and Hall could pass great. Makes no damn sense.

It is a different power play than you see from the normal umbrella and one time it. It’s pretty effective if they run it correctly. Basically they try to get the one of the defending players to overplay. it changes the shot angle and allows them to hold on a little longer, pass in the slot, protect the puck and get a good shot. If it goes wide or someone needs to rim it around the boards it’s easier for Hall and palm to catch it on their forehand.

You’ve probably also seen them come high up to the blue line and butcher has passed to them and they go in with a little more speed than flat footed. The slap shot is still there if need be. It works for this team cause we don’t have many great shooters.

I don’t think anyone here is disappointed in the season, but I sure was hoping we wouldn’t beat ourselves, especially against a team as loaded as the Lightning. If anything we are lucky the games have even been as close as they have been with the mistakes and poor play.
