Personally, I wouldn't be opposed to it, if the Hawks figure they can get competitive next season. I also wouldn't hesitate to use either Duclair or Hinostroza as part of a trade if they were able to get a good dman.

I think think Hamilton would come with a fairly high price at this point. 40-50 points from the blueline and only now 24 years old, he is pretty much going into his prime right now.

Individually, but I meant including one of them in a deal along with other assets.

Unfortunately, would be just another young D man going into the Q-grinder.
Very few survive.
Most get shipped off the Blackhawk plantation.
Those that do survive have learned how to take clothes to the drycleaners, detail cars and polish knobs.

Look, if Trevor Daley asked to leave, what makes anyone think another young guy could survive here. It's Q's way/system or the highway. You'd think a guy with so many wins would have some ability to flex his system to fit what his GM provides. Not here.
Doubt Q survives past the mid-way point next year.
Time for a new way of thinking/coaching.

(and by no means am I in favor of Blowman staying as GM either)

"Let's wait until puck drop until assessing the team". Puck was dropped, and the results speak for themselves. Please send me the link to that blog bc I'd like to look at my other posts on that trade day.

Exact statement was.........Saad> panarin......spin any way you like, you were in favor at first....YOU said saad was the better player....and now when the results aren't what you like, rewrite history.....SAD!

Do you still have a rash about lil Nicky?
I picture his coach, tapping his shoulder to send him out, and whispering in his ear...."you can do it"
So Q was wrong to jettison the league leading minus leader at -42?.....and it wasn't even close!!!!
If that's what a 5.5m cap hit gets ya, pass....put one in the plus column for Stanbo!!!

AA + Nashville's 1st + jurco + 3rd lowest one for
Hamilton and ferland too much not enough get a top 4 d man plus a gritty player who is physical and has some offense upside. Thoughts?

- Scott1977

Scott, do not put players who can barely hold a roster spot if that because other teams have those type and do not want our equivalent even as a throw in. Jurco has no value. Jurco type can be digned off junk heap, could be supplanted by just about anyone else
Trying to give more vslue to other team in a tradr or dumpong Jurco is never worth the other team even spending one second to consider. Now if the other team might need an emergency dman who is a puckmover, maybe Dahlstrom makes sense

Hey Savvy hope you're well sir...just wanted to give a shoutout to Stan this afternoon and that great Panarin trade. Of course the Breadman scored the OT winner against the Caps last night - after gaining almost 50 plus points than Saad in the regular season. Stan you're our hero.

I still don't see this team making the playoffs next season. And if the Hawks do decide to actually move a core piece I'd shudder to think what Stan would get in return. He'll get fleeced like he usually does. But hey lets' all hope for that big Tomas Jurco extension...woo hoo...Bowman must go before this team turns it around. I would hire either a new GM or Pres. of hockey ops and let him decide Q's fate. But McD doesn't have the stones to do it. So the trainwreck rolls on.

I see this team making the playoffs next year AND making past 1st round.
Let's put posting privileges on the line?
You and Enzo against me? I'd love to add leddy's brother and true grit but hey, I'm not that big of a pain.
I lose, you'll never hear from me again .... And I swear I don't have alt sign on, I'm far too lazy to go thru machinations anymore.
I'll even go so far to say, you don't have to resign, y'all just give up the narrative.
Pinky swear?

One last comment on Panarin/Saad....

The Salary Cap is going to rise as much as $7million this year. Panarin and Saad have matching Cap Hits until Summer of 2019. By that time, the Cap might be at $85mil or more, Anisimov and/or Hossa's contracts can likely be moved to Seattle or AZ, and the Hawks would've had PLENTY of Cap Space to give a PPG player like Panarin an $8mil x 8years contract (only a $2mil raise over his already accounted for $6mil contract). Pointing to "Cost-certainty" is completely moot bc the goal was to win Cups while Keith is still top pair (which is now debatable). Trading Panarin for Saad made the Hawks a significantly worse team, and that is an objective fact. You all can rationalize it and tell yourself "cost-certainty" bc it helps ease your mind when thinking about the fact that the Hawks traded an 80 point player for a 40 point player (36 this year). It's another horrid trade, and I promise to stop complaining about all of Stan Bowman's egregious errors that have Tanked this once great team to a bottom dwelling last place Lottery Team once Stan Bowman is fired as GM. Pinky Promise.

- EnzoD

Yeah it had nothing to do with Corey getting hurt and only having 1 top 4 defenseman. I'd rather the money go to a defenseman in the future than Panarin. Who knows maybe the plan is all along knowing they were going to have to rebuild, and in a year they will resign Panarin while having Saad on the team.

The old saying goes, curiosity killed the cat, but satisfaction brought it back to life.

Can you stand to look at the results if your pick might not be winning?

How about looking at it this way:

* Philly is the team with the first period jump, 2-0 over Penguins
* can LA even up the series vs Vegas? How far will Vegas go?
* Herculean effort by Minny to stave of the hungry big and fast Winnipeg Jets?
* Darn it no Tuulola or Gilbert in lineup. Of course they get Edgsell in. Whom plays sat night

I don't get the Hino love by management. He is an energy guy that gives effort every night. But I can never seeing him being a staple on the top two lines (or maybe even the top 3 lines), PP or PK. Players like him are a dime a dozen and the Hawks have a bunch of them that played in the NHL and Rockford this year. If we are going to carry such a borderline player on the big club let's carry one that weighs 200+ pounds and takes the body. A definite need on a marshmallow soft team. Hino is an RFA. If they resign him I hope it is at the $800,000 level at most.

Hey here is an interesting thought and uncertianty might creep in trying to ascribe a value metric upon Crawford

Next year he is 35 which is less a concern sometimes when this position than other positions in the starting line up.
Ok you know expansion is forthcoming..You could save $6 mill if you moved Crawford.. might be difficult depending upon his limited trade clause. And is his contract end next season? Anyway, a playoff team may be enticed to bring aboard the old warhorse in Crawford as goaltender insurance. Whom might we extract in return.
One idea is to acquire an agitator with descent skill. Lemieux From Winnepeg?

It was s good effort for they. Hope they can replicate it three more times.

Also watching a bunch of the jets-wild game. Of all the players the hawks lost from their championship teams, big buff is the one I would most like to have back. Msn, he has been putting some nasty hits on the wild

Still hard to watch the playoffs this year. The hawks not making it gave sucked so much energy and excitement out of it this year.

Was in with my boss yesterday afternoon and she kept getting a lot of nhl alerts. We were joking that each one was the league announcing the hawks still haven’t made the playoffs.

Forget how good Quick is,

You know King's didn't make the playoffs last year and Quick was injured.

Hawks don't make the playoffs this year and Corey missed the last half of the season.

But you know it's Stan's and Q's fault

Fwiw Kings don't look any different then when Sutter was coaching them

Are big buff, ladd and versteeg the only ones still playing that aren’t currently on the hawks’ roster? Could probably be playing for their 10th cup in a row if they hadn’t had to shed all the players arfer the first cup. No reason the 09-10 team couldn’t have won in 11 and 12. Figures they could have gotten past LA in 14. And they just might have had enough for 16 and 17. Obviously Crawford’s injury and Toews decline would have made a 10-peat difficult this year, but a fan can always dream!

And, yes, it is fun watching the LVGK. Shows you what a group of good but not great players can do when they buy into a good system and come to the rink prepared to outplay and out hustle their opponents in every phase of the game.

Just wish they had taken the name as the Las Vegas Odds. Golden knights is too vanilla for my tastes.

Bowman is right there for worst GM in NHL

Panarin could have been kept without the Seabrook contract which is by far the worst in NHL today
Seabrook is sadly a PYLON

Also Saad must go
To much money for a guy who be lucky to get 40 points

Let 19 play with Vinny & Schmaltz DO NOT play 19 with 20!!
88 15 12

Need a back-up who can play 50 games in case #50 goes dwon again

Of course Bowman has NO CLUE as evident by contracts, trades & off season moves

No takers, eh...figures. What would life be without the ability to cry about every misstep the organization's made that's cheated us all out of 4, 5...maybe 9 Cups as opposed to a measly 3.

Ah, the Golden Era. Was fun for some of us while it lasted.
