$3??? Hes not worth $2.25M
Again not that he is a bad player, but what are you paying him for? What is his exact role on the 2018-2019 NY Rangers and beyond?

- MiloslavHorava

At the time Grabner was dealt, many perceived that his value in the F.A. market could hit $3.5M per season for a 3 year term. Many fans here even said that they wouldn't object to him re-signing again here if he opted that way. It was the perceived price that was the issue.
Now that either his play alone, or in combo with the Devils system has faltered, if the Rangers can land him for $2.5M to $3M per year, depending on the term being 2 or 3 years, Grabner will fill that role hole created here when he was traded. In addition, he has said that he enjoyed his time playing for the Rangers, which could give Gorton a further edge in re-signing him for less than he or anyone thought they could if he were to reach the F.A. market.

He will have JT resigning or going to the 30 other teams before July 1, I wouldn’t worry about the mush just yet.

Ottawa killed me. I needed a vacation just from that series.

7 straight years and 11 of the last 12, I needed a break

I think the Ottawa series took a piece of flesh from all of us

I could rattle off every single series the Rangers have been eliminated in the playoffs from from 1978 until the present day and it's absolutely right up at the top with the most agonizing

The Rangers received some good news very early during this off season over the weekend, when Hank's MRI he had undergone late last week had showed NO structural damage of any kind, other than being an MCL injury. It could have possibly been just below a mid level Grade 2 sprain, which allowed him to play through it, as opposed to the greater nature MCL one which Pavlec had suffered that sidelined him for an extended period.
On breakup day as I alerted here on Jan's prior blog, Hank mentioned that he played the entire season through a knee injury, which was treated at times when irking him. He also said then that he first injured it during last year's World Championships in playing for Sweden, but aggravated it after a player had collided with it during a late October or early November game this past season. He will be required to rest completely for about one month, in also needing some special "platelet-rich plasma" treatments, prior to starting his usual summer training workouts leading into training camp.
In addition, Zuccarello reported on breakup day that he also played with an injured knee this past season, of which its extent had not yet been released.

He was told 3-4 weeks from when they cleaned it up.

He’s not even worth a roster spot.

But there was no word released yet as to the extent of Zucc's knee injury since their season ended 9 days ago, both when playing during this past season, and for his future. In fact, no one in the organization ever knew he was playing through a bothersome one at all, until at the time you had mentioned, Peter. Furthermore, the hockey world was not aware at all, with his name being heavily rumored on the trade market through the trade deadline.

Sometimes guys just play well in one place but not another. Just b/c he thrived under AV doesn't mean he will do the same if he comes back. I wanted him back originally, but seeing his performance in NJ makes me hesitant. Buyer Beware

Andrew Gross of Newsday states that Tavares could cost the Isles $10.5M annually, since "he won't be taking a hometown discount".
If reaching the free agent market, Gross believes that the favorites to land Tavares would be the Sharks, Blues, Golden Knights, Red Wings, and Canucks.
Gross does not see him signing with the Rangers, Leafs, or Canadiens, in mentioning the three rumored landing spots that have been mostly circulated.

Only advantage Isles have is that can give him 8 years right now while everyone else can only give 7

Don't overlook the fact that he is comfortable here on Long Island...Might be more of a factor than winning.

Believe me, I have no FUUUCKING idea why he would stay hockey wise. IMO, the only reason he would stay is b/c he likes living here

Mine began one "agonizing" elimination earlier when really so very young, with that 1975 Preliminary Round series winning & early O.T. minutes goal by J.P. Parise of the Isles in the deciding 3rd game at MSG. That concluded a 9 straight seasons playoff appearance stretch, with them missing the playoffs the following 2 seasons. They next began a 10 years consecutive stretch with many more "agonizing" eliminations, culminating through the 1987 postseason.
At least there was no cable t.v. available back then in those earlier seasons in my surrounding areas, for me to suffer even greater during home games, which kept me glued to the radio broadcasts for them with Marv Albert and commentator, Sal "Red Light" Messina when at MSG.

well 17 after game 1...half of those without Embiid. I actually think they are better right now without him, allows them to play so much faster

I don't think we have room especially if Spooner and Namestnikov are part of the equation, rather go young, same with Nash

I don’t see how Namestnikov is part of the equation going foward. He ducked his whole career before playing with Stamkos and Kucherov and he sucked once he was traded away from them. Take a 2nd for him and run.
