Kadri needs to sit 2 games for that. - Fenrir
Yeah, I watched it live. He started getting out of hand before the 1st Wingels hit with a knee on Nash that went uncalled. He was ramping up the stupidity for about 3 or 4 shifts before the eventual culmination that saw him get the gate.
Haven't seen punk play like that from him since before the Babcock days.
Edit:
Also, nice to see Nash playing hard and driving to the net after coming back from that concussion. I would still love to see him come back on a more reasonable contract. |

ooops, my bad, 48 is correct
Devils had a great resurgent season and lots to look forward to in the future, the Grabner trade seems unnecessary to me. I really don't understand why they did it. This is not their time yet.
Rykov could really end up being a player as well - jimbro83
dont really have any interest in resigning Grabner this offseason. he will get 3+ mil from someone |

seems like Buffalo is absolute torture to play in
the recent comments by Ryan O'Reilly and Ristolainen, seems like anybody just wants to get the hell out of there - jimbro83
No doubt. Nobody wants to go there. |

Agreed.
And from what I've read over the years, guys LOVE playing in San Jose. Compared to where Kane has played in his career previously it's got to seem like absolute paradise. - Tonybere
Playing hard to get a new contract to stay with a contender. |

If he has a good playoff run, he will be getting paid mucho dinero as a UFA.. I just don't trust him to offer a long term deal. |

Was thinking about this watching Boston last night...
They need to keep all these picks they have and go BPA the whole way.. look at all these young guys through Bostons lineup. Boston could have traded some of those picks but chose to really refresh the prospect pool. |

so much talk about the Kadri hit last night, but the Tom Wilson hit on Wennberg, my god, so dirty, he's gotta get the rest of series for that
the only thing on Wilson's mind was Wennberg's head - jimbro83
I think your hate for Wilson is clouding your judgement.
Its a hard hit, warrants a 2 min penalty for charging. Had Ovi not been on the other side of him he wouldn't have been hurt, he would've fallen to the ice by the corner boards.
Because he got hurt though, the NHL will give him a one game suspension, or because of his name give him 2.
The culmination of the hits by Daughty, Kadri and this one so early in the playoffs and the exposure... someone will get made an example out of.
My Opinion |

Andersson's (CBJ) game misconduct was ridiculous as well. It was a hit that resulted in injury b/c dman turned and dipped his body. Refs and fans act like the Matrix exists on the ice and players can slow themselves down in real time and stop their momentum.
Injuries happen, its annoying that when the injuries do occur, a player always seems to be blamed |

These hits/cheap shots have been league-wide problem for years now and it won't change until the NHL simply make a rule of mandatory 5 games or more for hit to head. This whole debate yesterday about Doughty---- should it be 1 or 2 games? No debate--- sit out 5 games minimum. Many of these ( not all ) would disappear... |

Besides Kadri, Andersson and Doughty hits aren't anything new. Those hits occur, and 99.9% of time its just an accident of bad timing. HD slow motion/replays makes us think it is a new "thing" , but it has always happened. Its happening a little bit more now b/c the speed of the game has increased. For the most part, when these head shots or checks from behind occur, its simply b/c the "hitter" can't react fast enough when the other person changes his direction or ducks down.
Besides a few idiots in the league, there is no less respect for the other players today than there was in the past. |

The removal of the two line pass, has sped up the game drastically. As much as I HATED that rule..... the removal of it has contributed to the increased speed of the game and thus more violent collisions.
For the record I DON'T want the rule back, but it along with genetics, nutrition, training and the celebration of collisions on TV and social media have led us to where we are now. |
