I don't know, not too concerned with who we play. Just glad we made it.

3 point game for PITT and CBJ. Sucks, still stuck in that WC1 spot.
- smellmyfinger

There was literally zero chance that game wouldn't go to OT

I really don't want to play Boston, past that I don't care too much who we play and ultimately am just happy they made it.

Not just in but on a hot streak against some really good teams. Only hotter teams entering the playoffs are Winnipeg and Columbus.

Well it looked doubtful... but then the team played like it deserves to be in the playoffs.

Lotta things are going right for this team. Deep playoff run? Possibility!

Crazy that it's not out of the question for them to end up with home ice.

It's insane to me that with just one game left for most of the teams involved, the Devils can end up anywhere from second in the Met with home ice to the second Wild Card spot. They can still potentially play the Caps, Lightning, Bruins, Penguins, or Blue Jackets in round one. Nuts.

Pens or lightning preferably. Never thought I would say that.

Totally agree. Want no part of Bruins caps jackets..although were 0 3 vs Bruins, we have played them.well all year and I don't think the veterans would allow a lost game to get revenge on the rat. But if it was a 4 1 game in the 3rd...

I think I mostly figured this out...

SCENARIOS WHERE DEVILS WIN ON SATURDAY

CBJ loses (any fashion)*, PIT loses (regulation) = 2nd in division, open at home vs PIT

CBJ loses (any fashion)*, PIT gets at least a point = 3rd in division, open at PIT

CBJ wins (ROW), PIT loses (regulation) = 3rd in division, open at CBJ

CBJ wins (ROW), PIT gets at least a point = 1st Wild card, open at WSH

*same scenario if CBJ wins in a SO and Devils get a ROW

SCENARIOS WHERE DEVILS GET ONE POINT SATURDAY

CBJ loses (regulation), PHI loses (any fashion)** = 3rd in division, open at PIT

CBJ loses (regulation), PHI wins (ROW) = 1st Wild Card, open at WSH

CBJ gets at least a point, PHI wins (ROW) = 2nd Wild Card, open at BOS or TBL

**same scenario if PHI wins in a SO

SCENARIOS WHERE DEVILS LOSE IN REGULATION ON SATURDAY

PHI gets one point and Devils lose by less than three = 1st Wild Card, open at WSH

PHI wins or gets one point and Devils lose by more than three = 2nd Wild Card, open at BOS or TBL

I think my order of preference goes PIT, TBL, WSH, CBJ, BOS

We played great against PIT and TBL this year and I think regardless of the outcome a series with PIT would be tons of fun. BOS is great and owns us. Over the last few years WSH kind of owns us too but I don't think they're THAT good. CBJ is super hot right now.
