People are complaining that in this trade scenario, the Devils are giving up too much. I just posted a possible realistic trade scenario. The fewer players, prospects and picks the Devs give up the better. I have faith in Shero making a good trade, and he has really made more good trades than terrible.

Some fans come up with crazy ideas like the Devils getting Malkin for Boucher and a 3rd round pick (or something that exaggerated). Or they think too highly of certain prospects and players.

Severson is expendable for the right trade. He's 23 and has played 275 NHL games. At the very least he shouldn't even be a healthy scratch at this point in his career. Benching during a game, yes. Healthy scratch, no.

Q should be in playing for the Devils now. He hasn't even cracked the line-up. Eventually, he'll leave to play overseas. He's basically the next Boucher.

McLeod and Zacha are fighting for the same role. It doesn't matter which when the Devils give up in a trade. I say McLeod.

Here is my concern, and it may be nothing. EK is having his worst "full" season since 10'-11'. He is also coming off an injury, which some experts have said affected his game this year. Next year will be his 9th season. I'm sorry, I don't give up the farm for him.

The problem with NY is that the Rangers are more of a tourist attraction hence them always getting big names. They can't do a real rebuild. So they always do the easy thing and sign sign sign without any regard to chemistry and all that good stuff that the Devils ooze these days.
