Just like that "one" time someone said Toews is overpaid, Panarin is better than saad, Bowman sucks, Seabrook is slow etc etc.

I'm glad this board is able to discuss and move on from subjects.

- BlazinMike

There's a death grip on some of these topics it seems. There's astute and passionate fans on this board, that might be the most visited site of the lot. Understandably this season has been a cold slap in the face, and we're now paying the piper for our amazing run, and Bowman's mistakes and Q's coaching decisions leave no room for error given the talent.

Yeah, except the above are all true whereas the Kane rhetoric is pure fiction. Tell us all Mike, what would YOU like to discuss?

How glorious it was seeing Tarasenko break his stick in frustration last night. How fun it was to see Armstrong rolling his eyes and storming off in a huff.

the Blues bench reaction after Keith scored with 8.5 seconds left.

Or poop, literally anything besides the same ol' same ol' that is brought up here daily.

Adding more: Debrincat's (frank)ing amazing shot mechanics

sharp as a good option for an extra forward next season

Gus being the definition of an offensive D man. He's been pretty good since he signed his deal at creating offensively, but D is still lacking

Ok, fair points....

From my perspective
1. I could give a crap about the Blues or how they re-acted to their losses, the Hawks should be tanking these last two games to increase their chances of a better lottery pick. Even if the Blues did make the playoffs, they'd be out soon enough so wasted effort and misdirection IMO.
2. Yes, Debdincat has been a pleasant surprise. I was admittedly a doubter before the season starts and he has changed my mind about his abilities for sure.
3. Sharp is a gigantic waste of money, this team needs less aging "core" vets on the decline...not more (see Toews/Seabrook).
4. Gus should be a forward, period.

How is Gus in comparison to Leddy in his first few years? Are they comparable offensively and where they both were defensively at the time?

I disagree, in a year where the embraced the suck, Sharps leadership with younger players has been valuable. He is on a vet mini deal, they are under the cap.

Save that thought for next year if the Hawks fire Q. This board will be saying the new coach sucks and we never should have let Q go. (even Old Duffman)

Seems like maybe he should play in the 3rd pair where he can stay away from the tough minutes.

Yeo is a crap coach, Hitchcock isn't that much better. Unless he has 100% buy-in from his players and a very good platoon of defensemen it just doesn't work. He's got guys like Spezza playing 12 minutes a night, puts guys in the doghouse for one play.

I agree about Sharp.
- The guy is making $800,000 per year.
- List the better shooters/snipers on the team. Kane, Debrincat. How many shooters/snipers in the system.
- List the better LW's on the team. Saad, Debrincat (I know DB has played both wings)
- Why give a young guy his spot to gain experience. Let them win the spot through their play or hone their game in Rockford.
- Sharp still has enough speed, plays with passion and some physicality.
- plays up and down the line up and will play both wings or center if needed

If he played on a decent line every game with the same linemates he would score 20+ goals with 50 points.

If he does not come back to the Hawks I hope he goes to a good team that gives him a fair shake. He can still play.

I love coming here and reading JL's blogs and all the comments that ensue and while I don't post too often, I thought you all might like to know what Mr. Whipple (for those of you old enough to remember him) has to think of the Hawks play this season...

Panarin set the all-time record for assists in one season for Columbus last night. He is tied for all-time points in one season right now. Not bad ........unless you're Bowman then it's a total and complete embarrassment highlighting what a king jackass he is. Fire Bowjob now before it's too late and he decides he can't sign ABD and trades him for nothing like he did Panarin.
- Savoy

Bowman is a clown. That was the worst trade the Hawks have ever made. We could have Saad and Panarin if we had a smart GM. 35 points compaired to 80 points. DISGRACEFUL!!!! We were 2nd in the conference a year ago with Panarin and today we,re out of the playoffs by 20 points. Kane with Panarin was the most exciting hockey we will ever see. Get Bowman out before he does any more damage to this team.

Absolutely, the blues had their own identity and it was Smash Mouth hockey and physicality. All they needed was a top-flight goalie. I am willing to bet that if these guys let Joel go, it the blues will be one of the guys to pounce on him,I think they will stay intact and these guys will get one year to straighten it out. So the onus is on Stan Bowman. He’s the guy I worry about cramping up this draft.

Seattle Supersonics

Man does Rutta look like a bad signing for 2.2 or 2.5 mil per (at least its only one year). I'd honestly rather have Franson in there for 1 mil.

I get that there aren't too many quality UFA defenseman but I would have let him walk. He's probably still tradable for a late round pick, but I would rather not have him on the team to start next season (along with Oesterle). I can live with Gus on the team as long as he plays protected minutes.

No No No I will not be saying that . I kept my silence for sometime on this topic . And then could no more ,he must go ,Like I say he has lost his passion IMO for the game .And down the stretch was pulling names out of a hat by the look of some of his line -ups ..

Must admit as much as I wanted the HAWKS to lose for the draft ,I still jumped when Keith scored (Suck it Blues ) .The hockey gods and ping pong balls will decide our fate at the draft . GO HAWKS !

I wish that was the case, but with Bettman the hockey god (not my belief) the ping pong balls will go in the order he wants.
