Montreal played an excellent defensive game last night... huge two points for the Devils hopefully they can Clinch a spot by Tuesday

So maybe not the Devil's best game but on the tail end of a back to back, I'll take it.

I'll be the first to admit Mueller has been playing really well the last couple of weeks. I still don't understand playing Lovejoy over Severson, and I thought Lovejoy had a pretty bad game.

I though Mueller played pretty well and had some promising moments where you can see he could be a good player. I feel like we keep getting these glimpses of why Shero and the scouts liked this guy. It sounds cliché but he doesn't usually look very comfortable on the ice and I think he's just always been jerked around in and out of the lineup and that makes him uneasy. Last night he looked more engaged and like a regular part of the defense.

I don't get the Severson - Lovejoy thing at all either.

Too bad Chiarelli's past mistakes isn't a reason to fire him, because if that was the case Edmonton wouldn't have hired him after the garbage he did in Boston...

Some of us including myself were hard on KK throughout the year but man this kid is really dialed in right now.
He looks so much more confident and relaxed in net then he was early on in the year.
He's definitely earned all the starts but i just hope coach isn't burning him out.
And where does this leave Cory moving forward?

Agreed about KK, I definitely bashed him as well. You can still rely on a first period goal against each night, but he gets his act together. Have to give credit where due.

I was going to suggest this assumption is premature, but it's not. This is actually becoming a bit of a trend across the league. Guys like Talbot, Jones, and, heck, even Cory! Not sure what the value would be in return but it's not crazy. His 1 year remaining on his contract might hurt just a tad.

You guys had a really promising future. Only had to improve on defense through free agency or a trade here or there. And then he trades Hall and Eberle for next to nothing and the defense is still trash but now you can't score goals...
