Per Q, Forsberg is done for the year. If he’s healthy then I say play Delia the rest of the way.

Berube has been recalled.

Sounds like they want to give the net back to Delia if he's good to go.

I looked it up, here is who I think has or will make their NHL debut with the Blackhawks this season:

DeBrincat
Rutta
Kampf
Dahlstrom
Highmore
Ejdsell
Sikura
Glass
Delia
Foster
Hillman (next game)

That's 11, counting Foster

- matt_ahrens

that got me wondering how many other new players were on the Blackhawks this year and I came up with this list:

Forsberg
Martinsen
Murphy
Oesterle
Wingels
Bouma
Duclair
Franson
Berube

Then there is Saad, Sharp, and Gustafsson who played with the Blackhawks before, just not last season.

That's a lot of new guys in one year.

Might as well see what Delia can do, neither Berube or Forsberg have been that impressive (I’d give the slight advantage to Forsberg).

For those of us who didn't get to see the game, how did Sikura look?

Saw a couple comments about being quick, but not much else. See he had two assists, which I guess is something in your first game.

Sikura looked pretty decent. His two assists were good plays. His first one in particular. He passed from his own zone hitting DBC in stride, who hit Gus for the breakaway.

I would add that he was a bit contact adverse, much like Kaner the first few years. I'd take a lesser Kaner type player any day over the man goo Stanbo has filled the roster with.

First game against one of the biggest and strongest teams. I wouldn't judge him as contact adverse just yet. Jets make a lot of guys seem contact adverse

I agree, he got bumped off a few times and now he knows what it feels like playing with men. He seemed a little surprised but not afraid. Appears to be creative so my guess is he figures it out eventually. And when he does I hope he shares it with Schmaltz.

He commented in his post-game interview, after asked what the most noticeable difference was between NHL and college, on how big the Jets players are. Must have been intimidating first time out.

jets said...hey this seabs and the hawks night...why give a poop; they didn't come up with a reason.

but the size difference between this jets team makes the hawks forward corp look like midgets on ice....

I would love to have been at his office this morning to see him get mobbed by hockey knowledgeable co-workers. Foster said last night he did not know if his wife saw him. Imagine when he got home and woke her up... what a story for the kid.

You have to wonder if Bettman is proud of his league today? On a night when a player is honored for 1000 career games with 1 franchise, a beer-leaguer steals the headlines. WTF is wrong with this league?

He should be thrilled - the only sport where a beer-leaguer could come into a game at the last minute and make the morning network news shows.

It was a feel good story in a year too short on them. He was trending worldwide on Twitter at one point. The major news outlets have picked it up, including the non-sports sections.

For this fan, it was the best game I've seen all year (aside from the Pens drubbing), from the Seabs recognition in the beginning to watching a team I thought had given up long ago play like maniacs to protect a pair of goalies - one new to NHL, and one no-name - to Foster's hilarious interviews after the game.

All-in-all a happy-making night.

Absolutely nothing wrong with what happened last night. Great story. It was made even better by the fact that because the Hawks have been eliminated from post-season contention they could just roll with it and enjoy it.

I know you like to find fault in everything. This shouldn't be one of those. Maybe just find a little enjoyment in the game once in a while.
