I don't think I've ever seen worse Blackhawks goaltending as I've seen in the past 20 games or so. It's definitely a combination of AHL-level skill minders and terrible defense. Watching them last night, it appears the whole D is out of sync, a step behind and makes terrible passing choices. It's hard to single out any of the D because they are so mistake prone- including Keith. Other than being caught flat-footed on one occasion, Seabrook actually was the best of the bunch last night it seemed. Right now the contracts handed out to Rutta and Guf look pretty bad...

A solid NHL level goaltender even if not flashy and two solid 3-4-5 D could change a lot though, maybe 7-10 more wins.

The team does feel like it's in tank mode, which isn't too bad given they currently have a 20.8% chance now to be in the top three and 6.7% chance for Dahlen according to that Tankathon website.

If McD, SB and Q think this edition of one goal Hawks is only
on the injury to Corey and Hossa then the migration to being
bottom feeders has begun and the "One Goal" for next year
is winning the lottery.

The room has no leadership for the top on down, I cant remember
the last time 2/7/19 took a kid to the side and talked to him about
what he might should be doing instead of what he is doing.

McD is only worried about sales and what Kanes and Toews drive
SB is still playing with his smurf dolls, Scotty never let him grow up
and Q is doing more Binnys commercials than coaching sessions, yep
their time has come and is now done

The trio of terror McD, SB and Q should all be gone at the end of the year.
Yes I believe we all want to thank the trio for the great memories but
now it's time to move on as their 15 minutes has come and is now gone.

I know most pundits are saying that the Hawks can compete next year if
the core all turn it around next year but what if they cant, what if 2/7/19 take
still another step back, what if Corey doesn't come back as the old Corey
who BTW was the best goalie in Hockey since 2011 thru this year, deserving
of at least 2Conn Smythe and one Vezina trophy, but the NHL marketing dept
never gave him his due. Still if Corey doesn't return next year as the Corey
of old forget about any more cups in the near future.

McD, Q, SB have given us 3 Cups but I highly doubt they bring us a 4th.
Again thanks for the memories, we were a dynasty in my lifetime!!!!

And you know this because you are on the bench during games or on the ice during practice? Just another baseless claim.

Toews should be asking Anze Kopitar for few tips how to bounce back from slumber.

He can start by having a Steak or two for dinner more often. Then hit the Gym with some serious weight lifting....

Well you guys looked like the 1980's Oilers against us last night. I thought I was seeing Gretzky, Messier and Coffey but it was just the Sedin twins and Edler.

Think the feeling here is just downright despair because this point came so quickly unlike the 3-5 years or so it took the Wings to decline.

You can have the first overall pick next year when the draft is in Vancouver. This year the first overall pick belongs to the Blackhawks.

I would accept this. The Necas-Zadina connection from the world juniors would be acceptable at the NHL level I suppose.

your captain was out, and you were playing a 2nd string ECHL goalie, I half expected a win for the canucks.

Ottawa seems to be very high on their newly acquired goaltender Filip Gustavsson. I wonder if this makes Mike Condon expendable to Ottawa? Condon didn't have the greatest season, but overall the Sens were poor. Maybe Condon could be the Hawks back-up next season?

Edit: Chicago's second first round pick and Hossa for Condon (50% retained) and a 2020 3rd.

He was decent once upon a time wasn't he?

Also, was there ever the headline after a bad game, "broken Condon" or something along those lines? That'd be kinda funny.

I was looking at a list of the affordable and potentially available goalies for next season and there isn't that much. At least there's not much that's a significant upgrade over what we have today. Subban from Vegas would be a good option too, but I doubt they let him go.

Never fear, Stanbo has a Chicago local option. He"ll give the Maple Leafs that Nashville 1st rounder he has in return for Garrett Sparks. Solves everything in the 6x4.

Strong effort might lead to accidentally winning a game.

The poor effort = sucking

losing = tanking

tanking = fast track to rebuilding this mess
