“With the 7th pick overall the Chicago Blackhawks take…”

The tank watch continues as the Hawks fall to the Vancouver Canucks 5-2 last night. There’s not to say about the game itself, but a couple of things I wanted to touch on.

Nice write up JL,
Totally agree would love to see more effort from all of the players but who am I kidding we all haven't seen that from anyone the way they played the entire year.
At least play with some pride show that the game still matters to them oh well there's always next year.

lets see how the hell do you lose 3 games to nucks by a combined score of 14-6. lose to a team that had lost 7 strt, 4 goals in 3 games and shut out 3x, 6 players on IR...

this team has some serious morale and want to issues despite the call by kane for reasons to by motivated, the goalies our probably internally begging not to play they will need a summer to recover from PT "to much rubber" SD

BRADY TKACHUK....... end of story. The Hawks need to treat this just like the Bears did last year when they drafted Mitch Trubisky, you need to surround your forwards with it next generation big strong power forward since you already have all your little water bugs in place although some of them may not be here next year. Plenty of options to trade for a D man.

He won't be available at #7, but it doesn't matter as the Hawks are winning the draft lottery.

q was unwilling to throw berube and forsberg under the bus; he talked about it's team responsibility; why no call out about how dreadful his blueline has played the last 3 months...

Q is not getting fired with what he had to work with and coach this year; bowman senior in his prime would lose with this bunch...

you can thank CC for and his gawdy .930 save% or this team is the sabres, but then again maybe we shouldn't thank him from the perspective of the draft...

where are all those crawford haters?

If McD, SB and Q think this edition of one goal Hawks is only
on the injury to Corey and Hossa then the migration to being
bottom feeders has begun and the "One Goal" for next year
is winning the lottery.

The room has no leadership for the top on down, I cant remember
the last time 2/7/19 took a kid to the side and talked to him about
what he might should be doing instead of what he is doing.

McD is only worried about sales and what Kanes and Toews drive
SB is still playing with his smurf dolls, Scotty never let him grow up
and Q is doing more Binnys commercials than coaching sessions, yep
their time has come and is now done

The trio of terror McD, SB and Q should all be gone at the end of the year.
Yes I believe we all want to thank the trio for the great memories but
now it's time to move on as their 15 minutes has come and is now gone.

I know most pundits are saying that the Hawks can compete next year if
the core all turn it around next year but what if they cant, what if 2/7/19 take
still another step back, what if Corey doesn't come back as the old Corey
who BTW was the best goalie in Hockey since 2011 thru this year, deserving
of at least 2Conn Smythe and one Vezina trophy, but the NHL marketing dept
never gave him his due. Still if Corey doesn't return next year as the Corey
of old forget about any more cups in the near future.

McD, Q, SB have given us 3 Cups but I highly doubt they bring us a 4th.
Again thanks for the memories, we were a dynasty in my lifetime!!!!

This or-gan-I-za-tion needs a number of guys like this. In the front office, behind the bench, and on the ice.

"Winning is not a sometime thing; it's an all the time thing. You don't win
once in a while; you don't do things right once in a while; you do them
right all the time. Winning is a habit.

There is no room for second place. There is only one place in my game, and
that's first place. I have finished second twice in my time
and I don't ever want to finish second again. There is a second place bowl
game, but it is a game for losers played by losers. It is and always has
been an American zeal to be first in anything we do, and to win, and to win,
and to win.

I've never known a man worth his salt who in the long run,
deep down in his heart, didn't appreciate the grind, the discipline.

I firmly believe that any man's finest hour, the
greatest fulfillment of all that he holds dear, is that moment when he has
worked his heart out in a good cause and lies exhausted on the field of
battle - victorious."

Go back and look at the roster they put on the ice the last few games. I think that'll sum it up.

With the 7th overall pick I would be thrilled if they can get Evan Bouchard. Adam Boqvist could be there too but I think we have enough his kind of players in Jokiharju and Mitchell. Probably not as good though.. I can´t see Hawks winning any games this year except maybe Islanders. San Jose, 2x St. Louis and 2x Jets..with this team and effort..no way. So it´s safe to say Hawks will draft in top 10 at least. Dahlin would be jackpot but he´ll end up in Vancouver or Detroit. That is what my chrystal ball tells me

Sens and Buffalo have just as good of a shot as any of the other bottom feeders as well.

Buuuuut, like DK said, Hawks are winning the lottery so (frank) them all

Yes I know but also know that they won´t get Dahlin (see chrystal ball). I know Boqvist would be happy if Sens draft him. He is big Senators and Karlsson fan.

"2) I don’t care that the team is losing; I just want to see effort and some signs of chemistry as the Hawks close this season off. I’m a little concerned however that some of the younger players or guys that should be auditioning for next year look like they are as uninterested as some of the veterans on this team. There was one point I looked and Hayden, Hinostroza and Martinsen were just standing still in defensive zone, casually swing sticks like they were in a pick-up rec skate. I would like to see a strong effort from guys like that.

You said it yourself - effort and chemistry.

Since the Hawks have been effectively (if not mathematically) eliminated 15-20 games ago, it really looks like the team has been leaderless, in the room (which, of course, I don't see first hand, or even second hand) and on the ice.

Not only does it seem that that coaches are not being listened to - or they've given up and aren't even trying - but it seems that the skated leaders aren't taking charge on the ice. The ones that know how to win - and have won - should be taking charge of the young players and - even in losing efforts - drag them into learning how they should be playing the game. Toews, Keith, Seabrook, Kane, Sharp....

I'm hoping this has not been a wasted year for the first and second year players - I'm hoping the bad habits they've gotten into can be quickly overcome - I'm hoping that something good (other than a good draft pick) can come out of this mess.

Otherwise they'd all be better off in Rockfish, making the AHL playoffs and learning how to play winning hockey.

The Hawks better not draft more undersized players. We probably have more sub-200# players than any other NHL organization. Come on!!! They need some size and have for many years now. If they aren't going to compete for the cup for a while, I'd like to so a physical, gritty team.

They need a new coach if they are ever going to be a team that hits.

You guys are down to lose those 2 games to us at the end of the year right? We can sneak into the playoffs and the Hawks can sneak into a top 3 pick

Q needs to go, period! Message has been lost on this team.

Bowman should go as well.....and some of the core.

Broken record I know....but it needs to be said again as it's really ugly to watch.

Let's put it this way... If you don't beat us in both of those games, you have no business being in the playoffs.
