Who cares? Let 'em rest. We're not getting ahead in the standings anyway and the schedule's easy enough going forward that we should be able to get to 100 points without a full lineup.

Mcilhenney deserves the playing time too

IMO, Leafs should ride out McElhinney a little longer. He's played really good and deserves it. No point in rushing Andersen back into things. He only needs 4-5 games before playoffs start to get back in a groove.

I know when I'm starring down game 7 of the SCF the first name that comes to mind is McElhinney. Second? Carter Hutton.

...but it is likely with the veteran’s important role as a checking winger that the Leafs will make sure he is fully recovered and not rush him back.

"Hey Komarov, you're a very important member of this club, so we don't want to rush you. Take your time. Seriously, take your time."

Komarov was on the ice before the main group at the MasterCard Centre doing skating drills, which is consistent with his knee injury not being long term, but it is likely with the veteran’s important role as a checking winger that the Leafs will make sure he is fully recovered and not rush him back.

“I’m still here, coach.”
“Look, Leivo. You’re a gud pro, and gud man, but you messed up Lou’s coffee last game.”
“Why did I re-sign? ...oh yeah, I need my thumbs.”

Nothing says "plan the parade" like having McBackup starting in game 7 of the SCF.

All kidding aside, he's really played well for us. I'm very pleasantly surprised by how solid he's been in net for us when called upon. Good for Makeasavey.

Our 2nd stringer had a cold and our starter got shelled back when I was in AA. I strapped on the pads and made 22 saves...and let in 4 goals including one like that. Completely flubbed it.
