Enzo, what fans should do that are fed up and agree with you on Stan Bowman, they have a table down in the main concourse for kids can go make signs, there are some adults even there making signs also, should get a bunch of guys to go make up about 10 fire Stan Bowman signs and hold them up throughout the last game of the season against St. Louis .I was at the game last night and I bet there was probably 6000 empty seats, I would bet it will be no more than half an arena Thursday night.
- wonthecup10

They actually stop you from making negative signs at those tables sometimes. My 9-year-old son had his sign taken away by the woman working the table just because he wrote "Boo Lightning" on his sign.

Bring your own marker, make sign at one of the tables, flip it over and modify it in the stands

Considering Saad won't be making them, I'm not sure what you're hoping to compare Panarin's performance to.

Well there we have it ladies and gentlemen.

We all knew the playoffs were not in reach, but now that they are officially out, I will be breaking down a few things in the coming weeks.

On the roadmap include:

* Rockford Push for Playoffs (ongoing)
* Prospect watch (ongoing)
* Off-season strategies and what I would do
* A look ahead to the next 3 years of Blackhawks hockey
* ... and a couple exclusive interviews that I've been saving

Anything specific you fine folks want me to cover?

Even though the Hawks are out, I've got a lot in the works but always have room for suggestions.

Cheers,
JL

People want to be nostalgic about the Cup Wins. Saad was another guy who had his play inflated by being on a line with Marian Hossa or Patrick Kane, exclusively. Artemi Panarin playing with a rookie center and a cycle of wingers who are far less talented than Kane or Hossa, has been a part of 70+ goals scored for CBJ. What is laughable about Bowman is that he claims to want to make the team "tougher" to play against last summer. Trades for Saad, trades for Murphy, signs Bouma and Wingels and plays Hayden early in the year. Fast forward to now and Bouma/Wingels are gone, the Hawks only physical player with skill (Hartman) is traded to a division rival, Hayden is just now called back up, and Saad/Murphy both suck. It would have been more beneficial to dump Hjallmarsson for a 2nd round pick. Now the Hawks are stuck with another overpaid 3rd pair defenseman in Connor Murphy. Stan Bowman has done a great job of assembling 3rd pair/AHL quality defenseman in high numbers....Seabrook, Murphy, Oesterle, Rutta, Gustafson, and Kempny are all NOT Top 4 quality this year. Bowman has GOT TO GO!

On a different subject, anybody know what happened to that lady contributor who always wrote good posts about advanced stats. Haven't read any of her posts for several months. Forgot her moniker.

Did Stan want to get rid of Panarin or did JohnMcD want Stan to get rid of him. Do you think John would ever take the fall for anything. I doubt it.

I laid out a well detailed account why Sikura could be in a numbers game on a deep
Penguins roster. I mentioned how many roles are available for what Sikura aspires toward. The blog is back a bit but you would do well to consider all i say. Then .....would Sikura see it that way?

The "stars" let them down / didn't perform / didn't make anyone better / didn't lead on the ice at the critical point in the season, so I'm not consoled that Toews has hit 20 goals for however many straight years, or that Anisimov joined him at 20 and Saad has a chance, or that Kane could hit 30.

They failed completely when it was all on the line.

- StLBravesFan

Its the Sammy Sosa syndrome. Nobody had more homers after 5 innings in games the team was losing and that meant nothing then Sosa, but he was among the league leaders....

I still like the Saad for Panarin trade. It was designed to be a hockey trade. Columbus certainly got the better of it so far.

I remember late in Game 4 last year when a pred gave Panarin a two handed stick shot across the face. No pushback, and it occurred after the game was out of reach.
Now this year, the Marchand hit and the Schenn hit. Both caused disabling injuries. No pushback.

The 'Hawks need to END this strategy STAT,or they're going to see more disabling injuries.

- 35Tony0

Lets get something straight.

The Panarin trade was made because the Hawks knew that Kane can play with anyone and be productive. And they knew Toews can not.

And knowing Hossa was gone...the hawks raced to get his next best security blanket. After the first 40 minutes of the season, it has been all down hill.

Let's see what he brings in a playoff series where his team has to beat another good team 4 times in 2 weeks and the other team can make adjustments. If he can't score he has to work hard enough to draw the attention of more than one player on the opposing team to open the ice for his linemates. That didn't happen here playing with a first ballot hall of famer someday. Not saying he can't do what it takes. And there's no question he posesses more hockey IQ than Saad. But I have to see it in the playoffs before I concede the BJ's got the better of the trade.

Makes you go hmm, again and again.
6'3"
only 180 lbs
not likely to put much more weight on at age 22
Another (likely) non-physical Euro

David Rundblad III (or is it IV?)
Gustafsson is II (ol Stan doubled down on him already)
Rutta is III (and again, Stan tripled down on him with an even-bigger contract)

Hey McDonut, you need a new GM.

Another lefty. What this means, is someone like this has roughly the equivalent of AHL experience and could be ready for nhl look within a year. So Stan may be trading his excesd of current NHL third pair/depth ceiling dmen for draft choice.

With Tuulola we need to see if he williingly engages more physically than the current bunch.

ALSO. The case for Sikura not to sign with the Penguins -- by and buy the nunbers. And his role. Break down the roster and decide for yourself. See second blog page 18.
