My point was he did not have a poor game. I think it's unrealistic to expect a perfect game from a young defensemen. Overall, he played well in my opinion and the stats tend to back that up.

They're all just shocked that a hard worker like Manning was scratched in favor of a guy who was in the AHL a week ago and played poorly last night .

I'm not even sure what this means tbh, can you elaborate? How were you measuring this badness away from the puck? Can you point to a couple specific instances of this that resulted in tangibly bad results? This just seems like a last ditch effort that resembles confirmation bias...
