Well, I see your point, but unless your gonna trade for Henrik Lunqvist, Price is a top flight goalie also which has to be the strongest position moving forward, given this garbage Stan Bowman has assembled,And we have Dog crap in our system as far as goaltending goes, otherwise the next GM will have the 1st pick in the draft next summer. You know that 1more season of this crap, Bowman does not survive.
In Goal you can't have anything less........ Unless they take a flier on Hutchinson or Bernier like I had put out there. My hope is that Crawford comes back all good in Sept. I only put that scenario out as a 1for1 trade ,equal talent, yes the money sucks, but in the event both players could use a change of scenery. That is the angle I took.

Price is breaking down and will be a toews like player in a season or two

Price has a .904 Save % this year. He is worse than Toews contract, much worse. HARD pass on Price, unless they take Seabrook and Crawford, then I'm game.

I am just looking at games played, three seasons where he misses about half the season. Seems every other year....

Believe I saw these lines in no particular order:

Jurco-Anisimov-DeBrincat
Hayden-Kampf-Sharp
Kane-Toews-Saad
Hinostroza-Schmaltz-Highmore

Seems he either plays almost every game or only half the season. Doesn't he have a worse track record than Crow in terms of having one major injury/IR a year?

I would not take Price on even with that trade. $10.5M per year till eternity -on a contract that does not start until next year. No thanks. That is worse than any existing contract we have.

From your list, I want either Bernier or Khudobin.

The bigger picture question is if CC will be back next year.

We have no definitive answer for what his injury is, or if it’s even an injury. Concussion symptoms? Broken arm? Heart attack? Hip replacement? Broken pelvis? Blindness? They’ve said ‘upper body’, and those are the only things that I can think of that could keep him out over 90 days.

Substance abuse? Depression? Just feeling blue? Psychosis involving ice?

If you don’t have a solid #1 goaltender, nothing you do with the D or up front will matter.

Bowman ruined everything

I'm fully on board the #fireStanbowman hype-train

This team is a mess, and has slowly regressed after winning the 2015 Cup when all the pieces were in place for long term success to be sustained if only a competent GM was making the decisions.

Unacceptable

Dynasty was ruined, oh what could/should have been....

doesn't Stan have to get approval to make the moves he makes? Does he really have the power to stay late one night and call up another team and consummate a trade without talking to anyone else in the org?

There's been some bad trades, but other people in the organization went along with them as well

SOB never did anything for this franchise - not one fukkin’ thing - took a sure 20 year dynasty given to him byTallon and ran it 8nto the ground.

Give me a couple of seconds to see if Quenneville ever did anything....other than destroy the play of Toews, slow down Seabrook, cause Crawford’s concussion, make Hossa itch and scratch....

I think Q did well for a while but over time he seemed to lose command of the team and his system wasn't dominating anymore because his rosters started becoming more and more flawed.

No point in speculating, he can't place and that's all we know for now.

Trade Crawford, sign Raanta for 4 years at $4.5 million per.

Added Frolik, drafted Saad, added Oduya, added Richards, added Vermette. Sure thing he made some nice moves to restock the roster for 2013. However, he failed miserably in addressing the defense which forced Keith, Seabrook, Hjallmarsson and Oduya to literally drain the tank because Quenneville was playing 4D for the entire 2015 playoffs. None of those Dmen have EVER been the same since the 2015 Cup Run. Bowman has failed to draft and develop an NHL defenseman (with the exception of Stephen Johns that he gifted to a division rival). His mid-late round draft record, especially on Dmen, is atrocious. Inflated contracts to Toews, Kane, Seabrook, Bickell, and now even Minor League Defenseman get 200% raises. Sent away talented young players like Leddy, Tuevo, Danault, and Johns simply to work around the Salary Cap mess that HE created. Additionally, the Panarin and Hjallmarsson trades are clearly failures. Saad will be hard pressed to score 20 goals as Panarin closes in on 70 points for this 3rd straight season (only 3 years in the league), and Forsberg shows why he was the Jackets 3rd string goalie!

Bowman has fielded a minor-league quality defense this year with minor league goal-tending behind Crawford. Are two straight 1st round defeats followed by a miserably bad last place finish acceptable for you? This should have been a team that was in the playoffs for at least a handful more years until Toews/Kane are well into their 30s. Stan Bowman has made far too many mistakes and not addressed serious roster flaws on defense. In fact, he doubled down on poor defenders Rutta and Gustafson. He needs to be shown the door in a few weeks, IMO.

AGREE AGREE AGREE!!!! 100% Bowman is to blame for the majority of this mess he has slowly indirectly through his lack of experience and constant mistakes and the same mistakes has turn a power house team into an ahl team for the most part. Overpaying bad contracts bad drafting bad development bad trades etc.. One other player in the draft if he would fall to the hawks adam boqvist be the player I pick on d side and of course thcaunck

I just went to Tankathon.com and pressed "Simulate Lottery" one time and the Hawks got #1 Overall Dahlin!!!! Hawks will likely (hopefully) lose 3/4 of their games to end the year and may get as good (bad) as 5th for the Lottery Odds. Let's hope that it isn't Stan Bowman making that selection at the draft......

No - they aren’t - and as I’ve said several times - I don’t think the Stan OR Q are the GM/coach to see what I consider to be a major rebuild through.

But too many of us give them no credit for what they did do - 3 Cups for Q (only 11 coaches in history have done that - only Q with any of those Cups in the 21st century)....

Stan drafted Shaw, AdB, Schmaltz, Jokiharju, Sikura, Hino (whom a lot of people like more than I do) with no pick ever higher than 18th, signed Panarin, Hayden....Since the last Cup not much success other than draft picks for sure, but....

Please - I don’t mind advocating for moving both of them out - again, I’d be mostly ok with both going - but there is too much one-sided vitriol against both after the best run of pro hockey this city has ever seen.

That's a reasonable POV and I agree that the nature of Sports Fandom is hyperbolic, in both directions. However, Stan has to sign Sikura first, Jokiharju has to show he is a legit NHL player, as does Vinny. IMO, there are simply too many errors and the present/near future of this team looks pretty bleak. But yes, I agree that Q and Bowman should both be replaced.
