1) Eddie Olczyk Replace the Stan Bowman as general manager.
2) if Coach Q decides he doesn’t want to coach anymore, then Tony Granato is hired as the head coach.
3) whether it be Stan Bowman, or whomever, they do what it takes to get in position to draft Brady Tkachuk with the early first round pick .

Those would be my three wishes, but probably all three will be a big NADDA. The first two are reaches, but something tells me that the third one will fall right into Stan’s lap and he will screw it up.

Ha ha. I remember that. We got nothing when Larmer left for the Rangers and Smith to Calgary and only Hackett for Belfour. With Hasek in the wings, it would have been an awesome trade.
- Popsghostly

There was talk of Belfour to to the Habs in 95 for Roy before Roy went to the Avs. With the famous Jocelyn Thibault going to Montreal.

Sikura - let's see....

Sign a two year ELC with the poop storm that is the Hawks and wait until 2020 to be a free agent, or wait until this summer when you become a UFA, can pick the team you want to play for, and hold out for the highest bidder....

Talk amongst yourselves, but you know the answer already.

- Return of the Roar

Money will be the same from any team that signs him. He would be on an entry level deal, only UFA's 27 and older can be paid more

Who is Sikula?

The subject of compensation for a draft pick that doesn't sign with you is a tough one. While it may make sense for 1st round picks, for lower round picks, requiring compensation would limit the market. For borderline players, teams are not going to want to give up compensation so it would limit where a player could go in free agency.

#1 is a horrible idea. I think it's enough of bringing in someone that is from
Chicago, whether its a player or a coach or a GM. Get the best available people you can, and Eddie O isn't that in my opinion.

Agreed, I love Eddie O and he's a solid hockey mind. But he's not the best candidate. Attending 100+ games a year and analyzing plays isn't the same as scouting, and Eddie doesn't have experience in a front office.

I wouldn't mind bringing in a guy who has solid draft experience. I don't really want Ron Francis but his ability to sniff out top Dman prospects has been huge. Ken Holland might be available after this season, and he's one of the all-time great GMs, albeit he may be too old-school now. Lombardi is working for Philly I believe, but probably wants another kick at the can.
Paul Fenton is the Asst. GM in Nashville, and it's hard to argue with the results they've had in the last year.

I'd like someone who is strong with the draft, doesn't hand out mega-deals and NMCs to everyone, and knows how to incorporate analytics into the organization.

My 3 wishes and that's all I get ok:

1st: Wirtz cleans house Mcdough gone (wife abuser) Bowman's gone ran their course and Q gone thank you for the 3 cups but need a new voice system and style who ever would replace him needs to be able teach the young players up and still have the respect and be able communicate with the vets.

2nd: Need at least 3 experience d man that have mix of physicality speed d zone coverage size and can get their shot through and join the rush.

3rd: Pick a direction for this team and what style of play they want to play and create a identity fill the roster with those type of players. Hawks need to be tougher to play against whether its through physicality agiataion speed pick a lane and go with it. Need to get a impact player in this draft looking the hawks will be picking 7-10 maybe they get lucky and get a top 5 pick.

Last if the NHL and bettman is smart they better make sure that Chicago N.Y rangers Detroit better be in the top 6 in this draft arz Edmonton buffalo have there chances to rebuild and failed. Those teams are not making the NHL revenue maybe buffalo Chicago N.Y Detroit are big markets are espescially in the playoffs.

You know he'd at least draft some players with size and skill that don't fold after contact too

Did not even think about the Chicago connection, but rather looking at it from the success that Dale Tallon had only to be deep-sixed by the marketing maven. I am glad ownership in Florida stepped in and corrected their mistake even though it cost him a very good head coach. As far as Eddie goes, I think he is a student of the game having been in the league, and seeing everything on a national basis. And as a head coach of the Penguins back in the day, Eddie was one goalie away from winning a Stanley Cup with the penguins. I believe that was done by design by Mario Lemieux. Eddie kept asking for Marc Andre Fleury To be brought up only to have this request rebuffed.

Sorry Z3, but it is you that must be watching a different game than everyone else. Seabrook has never been a great skater, but has made up for it by being positionally sound and being an excellent passer. His play has declined considerably in the last 2-3 years, and yes, some of it can be attributed to having to baby-sit youngsters, but not all of it. Seabrook regularly gets beat wide, and no longer wins any races to loose pucks. The most concerning thing about his play however is that while once an excellent passer, that seems to have been completely lost. I have seen more icings, passes behind people, in front of people, or made to seemingly no-body from Seabrook this year. That is a sign that he is slowing, as he no longer has the time or space to make a good pass. His ridiculous sliding on his belly to break up plays is also a result of him being beat and behind plays and making a last ditch effort to break things up.

I'm willing to give it the benefit of the doubt for one more season that maybe he is hurt, maybe he came in out of shape, maybe he has some personal issues affecting his game.....whatever, but the eye test thru the whole season says he has been poor more often than good, and only so much blame can be placed on his playing partner. A lot of the mistakes he makes are NOT because he is covering for someone else.

Dead on. Hit it on the head. The passing has declined IMMENSELY.

The back issue makes a lot of sense. Hinderance if it is being managed. Could it affect his core muscles or his skating? Leads to all sort of questions if back is a problem. Joggers with bad form have back issues. Coremuscles or other muscles can have the effect where part of a muscle group is overworked or overdeveloped and another part if muscle can atrophy. Everything harder when out of shape. Is long rest a cure. Surgery. Just wear and tear?

Huh? They were never even close to a Cup with him. This is Eddie's coaching record below and a 19 year old Fleury was called up and posted a not so stellar 4-14-2, 3.64 GAA.

Must be thinking of another Olcyzk.

3) Brandon Saad to shake whatever gremlins have crept into his head on the offensive side of the puck

2) Toews to shake whatever gremlins have invaded his body

1) Stanley and Q get on the same page with a cohesive hockey plan for this franchise.

Methinks if that last one sorts itself out, we may actually find a way to make some progress on defense.

1. Entice Pavel Datsyuk to come back from Russia
2. send a low round pick to Detroit for Zetterberg, with DET retaining $5M
3. Get Hossa's skin condition cleared up.

Send Datsyuk, Hossa & Zetterberg out as the 4th line in '18-'19. The old guys will crush it, and show all these young guns how to play the game.

One thing the Hawks have gotten right again lately. Putting Toews/Kane together on the powerplay again. The performance on the ice for the PP is across the board better when both of these players are on the ice.

Shot Attempts, Scoring Chance, High Danger Chances, Goals all way better when these two are both out there as opposed to separated.

In general I hope they keep them together. The rate at which the team is scoring goals when they are on the ice is solid since they've been put back together and is similar to 2013/14 for Toews and nearly 2015/16 for Kane. Small sample size, but it can help get them into a groove in what has been an off year for both guys.
