Some bloggers have really thin skin. A guy on here who used to play and work for the league is the worst at banning some of us.

Darth Kane,
Just wondering what is your preference you want us to draft if we had a top five slot. Your order say #2 - #10.

Btw wiz is at least tempoarily banned by some administror other than Justin. Is it a sour grapes thing. I am a bit in the dark over it. But Justin probably could get him back on the board. I know this: despite whatever so called transgression, hockeybuzz and its readers loose out. Wiz can write anywhere he wants. He doesn't need hockeybuzz. Can you handle the truth, moderator who banned him. Can you tell us why he was banned so we do not commit the same atrocity?

Is it possible that it has something to do with promoting a commercial website?

Yeah, that's part of it. Usually they warn you if you're posting links to other hockey sites but they ban you if you keep doing it. Specifically if it's promoting another site you benefit from in some way.

tt was soft and disappeared at times he was a complimentary piece if you already had size.
Hayes and Stalberg were both big but played like 5'8 euros.
Eager was a good lw decent hockey player bit of a agitator spot picker.
Mayers was on his last leg of his career and washed up.
John Scott was a big guy who didn't really play his role as enforcer as good til he went to buffalo great locker room guy better 4th liner then Stalberg and Hayes.
Bollig started out great then his last year he got a big head never saw a player who would miss the body and hit the boards harder then good ole b52.
Matt Walker big guy who was a dman who was ideal for a young team as a 6th dmen.
Then we had Ladd big buff and other big bodies that were essential to the hawks success.

- vandymeer23

Just to follow up. This is my point about people clamoring for size and being upset with we draft "midgets". Just because a guy is big doesn't mean he is good at hockey. I'll give you Ladd and maybe Byfuglien, but Walker, Scott, Eager, Bollig, Hayes and Stalberg were not good at hockey. Big guys that "served a purpose" sure, but not good at hockey.

I have no problem at all with drafting or signing someone who is 5'10" - 6'1" and really good at hockey. We have three cups out of rosters that are predominantly that. The guys that are 6'3 220 AND good at hockey will cost you about $8M per year.

replace Highmore with some toughness and a guy that hits and add a vet in the wingles to rotate as the 13th.

Hey guys - I didn't have anything to do with Wiz being temporarily banned.

I actually didn't even know anything about it until Wiz messaged me.

I reached out right away to the heads of HB to see what was up and the reason was because users were complaining about Wiz promoting his site on here.

I told them I was ok with it but it was out of my hands from there.

Awesome! Now do defense!!
- Chunk

I thought this was the positivity blog? The defense is still a mess but the forward group has potential to be quite good. I forgot about Sikura. I'm expecting him to be a 3rd line type all around solid guy. Hopefully his college playmaking ability translates well to NHL hockey and he can be top 6 player. At some point very soon a trade of a young and talented forward (not Schmaltz) for a young & talented defenseman needs to happen. Even if Bowman grabs a high end D prospect with their Top Pick, that guy probably won't be ready this year. While Gustafson and Oesterle have their positive moments making plays with the puck, they are an adventure without the puck and weak in physical battles.

Joe Sakic knows what kind of Dmen he didn't like to play against...big, physical and mobile enough to keep up. Eric Johnson is massive and he's out injured. Minus Barrie and Picard (who are highly talented offensively), they have 4 big young defenseman back there. I'd like the Hawks to have a more similar look on the backend moving forward. Just too easy in the Hawks zone all year.

Nope. He told me over the phone. Something about his citing some work he had done on another site. I am not clear on it. He was busy and didn't have time to explain

UPDATE
I think you guys on the site and Justin honed in on Wiz ban. Well those administrators could have warned wiz but hockeybuzz has its rules. I suppose those who ban him might yell at their kids team coming off field with sloppy play and a big deficit. Until one of the fathers says, "lighten up."

Some things you just do not like much in life but it is a site we visit. We did not make the rules. Wish away all the bad you want about things you do not like in life but the rules are the rules irregardless if you like them. I see more egregious things - even a former referee who couldn't just leave me alone - and the site let it go. Which was bs.

No Zadina or Svechnikov if we get a top 3?

I was assuming the Hawks would be drafting 7 - 10.

Agree 100% Well said. Kane and Panarin were by far the to best players on the team. Bowman already did so much damage between the contracts and his trades. No gm in the entire league would have made that trade. We may never get another sniper like him. We gave up 80 points for 40. DISGRACEFUL!!!!!

There you go, Stanbo's replacement as GM.

It will be a Hartford Whaler re-union party - Francis, Q, Dineen, Samuelsson. And then Tippett will get hired to make it a 5 some.

Please - do some actual analysis. Panarin is older and uni-dimensional and didn’t care at all about his team-mates. I’ll go along with Toews who despised him. Yes let’s give him 6M to cause ongoing dissension. Ovechkin is a “sniper” not Panarin who barely got 30 playing with Kane and may not get 25 this year.

Completely baseless conjecture and character assault does not change the fact that Panarin is an elite offensive goal creator and Saad has had an awful year (finally looked decent last night).

Hawks should have both players right now with better GM work.

I agree - I learned more about hockey with the wiz contributing. In a way he augmented the writer with his in depth knowledge. Its Justin's page, if he is OK then the Wiz should be allowed to contribute.

Who do we talk to so we can reverse the Wiz Banishment?

Size is good but as you said, hockey skills and sense are better in someone in what I will call the midsize player (5’10” - 6’1”) than a bigger body that is missing those qualities. I believe equally as important is toughness, and this is a trait that transcends size. I think the 2013 Ducks were bigger than the Hawks and out hit the Hawks at every turn, but that Hawk team had some really tough players who excelled while taking everything thrown at them. I will take toughness, skills and hockey sense any day.

Sounds like these guys are copying a page right from Bill Wirtz’s playbook. Guess they can’t fathom that hockey “buzz” is only strengthened by all of us having access to multiple sources for information and discussion. I like Justin’s write ups, but there are other sources for more technical analysis - which is not my particular cup of tea - or futures, etc. Share freakin ideas across different platforms and blogs — we will all be better informed through this cross pollination of ideas.
