Looks like there will not be much to hope for in a month's time for Rockford too. A disastrous year for this organization.
Last night's opponent gets the 4-1 win with 12 shots on goal. Glass in goal.

On another note, please relocate Florida Panthers. It's pathetic to see highlights of their games with mostly empty seats. They have some nice young talent and are making a push for the playoffs, but it's crickets in their stadium. Move them to where someone likes hockey.

.

Florida has always been a problem spot. You can’t name team’s after states. At the end of the day you need to pull your fans from the city the team is in, reflect that city. Civic pride kicks in. Miami is an incredibly vibrant, unique, interesting city. The Panthers don’t reflect these facts at all as they are a meh, boring organization. Seems the city of Miami just tunes the team out.

The NHL and the NHLPA need new Lawyers. They have taken what are basically simple concepts and made them unduly complicated. Just hire me next time. In simple terms a team using LTIR wants to spend as close to the Cap as possible - in an ideal world right at the Cap. If the team does so the entire LTIR is gone. Teams way below the Cap that need to get to the floor can use an LTIR to get closer - advantage obviously is you get the Cap hit but it doesn’t cost actual money. This is why these contracts have value as trade assets but obviously only to certain teams.

From the pov of the NHLPA you potentially get more spending on players by teams spending to the Cap but less by teams that might use an LTIR to get to the floor. Might have made more straight-forward sense to have simply said - if a player is allowed onto LTIR the contract ceases to exist.

Panarin is Columbus' problem now.

Touché. At some point the annoying, concerning behaviour and comments of a player must be looked at. Can’t just ignore. Management obviously was very concerned.

Late to the board today . Thinking how can they breath life into this organization Next year . 1st I would say you must get a top 4 pick . I can dream and hope it is the 1st or the 2nd pick. If it is 1st you take Dahlin and you have you cornerstone Dmen for 10 years. If it is 2nd you take Zardina and he could breath some life into this offense. Next you get Crow back health. I am saying a lot of " I told you so" to many hockey watchers when I see the Hawks goaltending now without Crow. Gets no respect. Look at the Hawks now. Crow saved there bacon for the past 5 years. He deserved to be the Stanley Cup MVP in 2013. The hawks would have lost to the wild in round 2 if it was not for Crow. Even Kane said Crow deserved the MVP. And in 2015 he deserved to be in the conversation for the MVP. For 2016 and 2017 he was their MVP. I hope he is able to come back next year healthy and much more appreciated. And finally, change the coaching staff. Sometimes you just need a new voice in the room. This group needs a change. Q is a great coach but this group needs a new voice. If the hawks let him go and he gets hire by another organization then so be it. Sometimes change is needed. As far as picking 1st or 2nd I can dream.

While the Hawks have missed Crow the situation has been made far worse by the fact that the Hawks have been caught with their pants down with no true viable back-up goalie to take over. Crow seems to have concussion problems - these type of problems have a degree of unpredictability and the potential for relapses and re-sets. That being said it was obviously a serious situation and someone, somewhere in the organization should have long ago said Crow is going on LTIR and we must trade for a new starting goalie. This season has been defined by the Hawks not acting like a true professional hockey team. It has been ridiculous.

I like these options, especially Dean Lombardi.
What about Colliton to replace Q, or Granato as HC with Colliton as an assistant?

Poile May retire this year and Fenton takes over in Nashville

I don’t have a feel for coaches but Bowman and Q can’t coexist-

Two of the best in the East squaring off for an early afternoon contest in Tampa. Philly looks poised to be a contender for the next handful of years with their young forward/defense talent....especially if Mrazek continues to play as well as he has for them. Looking forward to the Kings waxing the Hawks at 2pm MT.

We need to lose to take advantage of the gains we have made since our last loss.
And the worse we lose the more likely significant off season change takes place.

I'm guessing we win 2-3 more games. That's it. You can tell that this team is 100% checked out and is ready for the season to be over.

A while back I was calling for victories over Buffalo and Vancouver but the Islanders are now in a freefall and in danger of passing us in the lottery standings.
If the Central Division standings stay tight it will make some of those late season games meaningful for them -advantage to us.
So 2-3 games should be about right.

Don't think that will be a problem. Odds on how long Q leaves the lines together?

One thing I noticed about Highmore.. kid hustles. He struggled, but that kid really gets after it on the back check.

Wide open offensive game in Tampa and it's now 5-5 in the 3rd. Hedman, Stamkos, & Kucherov are unstoppable offensively.

Nah more like a young team, they have a long lay off, I made a reference last game that I dreaded when my sons little league teams would have a long lay off because its as if they forgot how to play first game back, I just can't believe I'm witnessing the same thing with the Blackhawks this year.
