I don't want to see any more of #13. Give someone else a look.

Sadly for Franson his perceived slowness overshadows his offensive and other abilities. I don’t really get it - I think he has value. Thought he would be picked up on waivers. I remember reading a story about a team that had a number of older players. This issue was brought up and someone said something like - would you rather be young and bad or old and good. This getting young at all costs isn’t necessary the best avenue.

100% agree. One of the few if not the only D that could be effective on the point for the PP.

Didn't realize but Green apparently is reported to have a neck injury that may have scared team's away.

I was more surprised to see the Wings move Tatar vs Nyquist. Not sure what interest Gus was drawing but I'm sure Tatar pulled the better package of picks.

You could see that LV finally got sloppy. They had stockpiled picks and gave a 1st, 2nd and 3rd for Tatar. They have over-achieved by being very conservative and smart. Unlike many others I see LV as a carriage soon turning into a pumpkin.

I am fine the moves. 38 was misused in my opinion, but I also do not believe that he will be anything more than a second or third line player at his peak. No team is taking the high salaried, core players that are underperforming. They got more picks and a big bodied, center with soft hands & some speed.

This draft will be key to reload on some good young prospects. Hopefully the younger players develop some chemistry with whatever games are left this season and continue their upward trajectory. I think that if the young guys continue getting better, they will cover up some of the deficiencies that are becoming evident with the aging core. Most of all, hopefully Crawford is able to come back healthy next season. Good goaltending covers a lot of deficiencies. He was keeping the team in the playoff race until he got injured despite poor play in front of him. I'm not saying that falling out of the race is due to poor goaltending because it has been ok overall, but one soft goal a game in so many one goal games played throughout the season makes a huge difference between a guaranteed point (maybe 2 if they pull it out in OT) and putting a game in the "L" column.

Hope everybody is well. Go Hawks!

Tatar has a high cap going forward. If they resign expiring contracts like Neal with raises, this team could quickly become old without Cap advantage and Draft advantage. I am really puzzled by that trade. Tatar is not the player who will put you over the top.

So people are actually surprised that a guy who came here on a PTO (because nobody wanted him) and cleared waivers with his cheap deal 1 year deal (because nobody wanted him) didn't fetch anything at the deadline? The real, sad surprise is that he actually skated so many top pair minutes with Keith earlier this year.

I don't want to see anymore of Sharp either for the rest of the year. We have lots of cap space to call up someone.

And Green from Detroit. I am sure Detroit would have offered salary retention. Maybe Detroit was asking too much and got caught holding the bag?

LeBrun said the injury scared everyone away on Green.

Shocking, that the other teams scouts around the league weren't interested in Franson, Bouma, or Sharps useless asses haha.
- BlazinMike

Sharp absolutely could have signed with many teams before this season. Hindsight is always 20/20

If he was with the big club, I would have been disappointed that he was not moved but I am less so with Franson in Rockford. He can help him in their playoff push. I read somewhere that a couple of players on the Hawks are eligible to play for Rockford after our last game as well.

I didn’t think he would be tradeable but I thought some team would pick him up as insurance when he went on waivers. Most hockey commentators were surprised he cleared. One thing is true - this year has had so many weird personnel tangents it gives a fan a headache.

He turned down contracts to come here on PTO. He also had a great blueline breakup percentage and possession numbers. Sorry if facts aren't part of your statements on him.

I think Stan probably realised nobody wanted him, or else he probably would have been recalled. Hard to sell other teams on a dman who wasn't good enough to be playing for the Hawks this season.

The last guy who wore 36 was MVP of the 2010 playoffs in my view. It was a joke he didn't get it. He was dominant against every line he played. He shut down the Joe Thornton line and shut down the Mike Richards/Jeff Carter line in the Cup finals. The Brierre/Lleno line killed us in the Philly series, but that wasn't against Bolland's line. His defensive play controlled the Hawks Cup run. OH YEA, Bolland also scored 16 points in 22 games during the POs that year.

May I also add that because Toews won the MVP that year (yes Toews played great) it cost the Hawks Andrew Ladd. I think he stays in Chicago if Toews doesn't get that MVP bonus.

While his play hasn't been good,I think he still has some value in teaching younger guys. No question he was helping DeBrincat learn earlier this season. If he is having a positive impact on the young guys, I'm fine with him playing.
