I’m hoping that playoff spots in the west are not decided till the last day or two of the season, the reason being everybody will have to bring their A game against the Blackhawks, which will in turn help us get a higher draft seed.

Jimmy Hayes absolutely sucked and still does. Vesey does too. Kevin Hayes isn't anything special, and is a jerk. Glad we don't have any of them.

yes, I just wish we got something for that draft pick, it turned into a waste.

You mean the big center we acquired from Nashville in the Hartman trade?

I too hope that after all the dust settles on the Hartman trade that we are not just left with a broken down Edsel.

- 67hawks

You said it with much more aplomb
Don't know how I typed Toronto
Maybe it was a subliminal message if I dreamed.we had one of their centers

I recall hearing that the QMJHL is a no defense league, and the offensive numbers always are extreme. Overall, most guys do not succeed as well in the pros. Is that still true?
- powerenforcer

Definitely was a truism but Don't know if still this way. Rick, wiz and some others would know. Darth Kane probably knows.

May be moving at slow Knotts before he arrives but if he gets here I foresee a strong and strong along boards on lower lines

Listened to Q’s last interview on the Hawks’ site. Doesn’t seem to have a care in the world and seems to be taking absolutely no responsibility for the team’s play this year. Basically said if the players had played better the team would not be in this position. Said the entire team didn’t perform except for maybe 2 young players. Q there’s there’s the door buddy - don’t let it hit you in your arrogant ass on your way out.

18-0-1 to finish with 99 points, and a playoff birth! Hartman was the cancer that was killing this team. (Red font)

If the Hawks end up with picks 6 and 29 in the first round, what would they have to package with the 29th pick to end up with 2 picks in the top 15?

ETA: AA has a NMC until 7/1, after that he has to give them a list of 10 teams to whom he would accept a trade. If the Hawks came to him before the draft and told asked him to give them his 10 team list early, would he do it?

Trading down is more of a loosing proposition to my way of thinking. In the NHL the core pieces, the star power, the difference makers come most from the top picks. So there has to be a seller's market as far as I can see. I would need a good prospect plus your not late #1. Which makes trading with Chicago difficult as they would pay a steep price to move up to a significant spot.

You really want to know what I was thinking, that was the nice way to put it, I hope the Hawks get their asses handed to them just about every game from now to the and of the season to force this general manager to actually get out of his comfort zone and feel the heat, the real heat from up above. As positive as you want to look at things in reality and I know a lot of others feel the same I’m freaking pissed! And if they get to piss beat out of him 3/4 of the rest of the season they deserve it.Screw going on a run, I want to see them get a pick between three and seven.

Rumour had it that Hawks already approached AA about waiving before the Trade Deadline. Hawks apparently did not get great trade proposals for AA. I would have treated AA as a trade of a poor contract. Keeping him hoping for something better at the Draft is wishful thinking but let’s hope it works.

I like AA as a Third Line Center unless an amazing deal jumps out at the draft

Nice to see Boston putting it to the Pens - Physically and on the score sheet- like the Bruins formula- Speed and Tough

Reporter saying top 2 D pairs are Keith/Oesterle and Seabrook/Murphy. Said it before only Q would have top 4 D with 2 Lefts and 2 Rights but force 2 of the Ds to play their opposite wings. Sure Babcock is full of it.

Would you trade the Hawks higher 1st round pick to dump 100% of Seabrook's (or Toews') contract?

Depends....who is left available to draft and what is the plan to replace Seabrook (wouldn’t trade Toews).

No hawks need as many assets in their system cupboard a little bare try and get a goalie or player with size and speed with that pick i think seabrook will be better next season same with saad and towes if can ever figure out in diet and work regiment still think he playing injured back knee or something else.

Depends on where exactly the pick falls, and who is available for the Hawks to draft. Also, what would have to be coming back in return?
