One? We're horrible in them, but at least if we are tops in the Division, it's a more attractive prospect for people to watch.

The outdoor games are ridiculous at this point.

It was cool when you had the game every few years but now the Winter Classic, Stadium Series, etc., every years is just kind of overkill in my opinion.

Can someone please explain to me how trading a utility forward who was in and out of the lineup has any bearing on what the Hawks will do with their head coach after the season is over?

I get that Hartman was a former 1st round pick and he brought some traits that are short in our lineup, but looking at what they bring to the team, would you rather have Hinostroza or Hartman? Hinostroza busts his rear all over the ice, works corners, doesn't back down, puts up psoints and has brought the same intensity to every line he has been on. I'm not saying Hartman is any means, but right now, he is the lesser of the two.

- Chunk

Better question.

How can you possibly consider keeping a coach who couldn’t find a consistent spot in the lineup for a quality player like Hartman yet trotted out that worthless piece of poop Bouma every night?

Totally agree. Big fan of his.

He's way more consistent with physicality, board play and skill than Hartman has been.

Hayden brings it every night.

Only problem is that he will have to face 3 attackers with no help from his teammates every time he checks someone.

Ejdsell, Victor 2 RFA ELCPerformance Bonuses Waivers Exempt C, LW Loan 22 $833,750 $833,750
RFA

looks like he is on loan to the SHL so next year he would have 1 year left on his ELC?

- kmw4631

So, I think you are right. Ejdsell has one year left on his ECL after this one; however, there should be an arbitration afterward. I forgot about the European Assignment clause.

Hartman money? Hossa Money? So many opportunities to raise the money to have kept Panarin just like I said there would be and there will be plenty more. So easy to see right through the sophomoric propaganda around that trade. I hope Hartman trade doesn't bite the Hawks in the butt. Poile is nobody's fool. If you don't think so ask yourself who you would rather have, Poile or Bowman.

I think the idea is that IF the team was planning to move on from Q and IF the issue with Hartman was primarily a disconnect between he and Q, then wouldn't you want to see what a new coach might do with him given his potential upside as evidenced last year?

So, a signal that maybe Q is returning.

- pdx2ord

I guess the logic tracks there. I'm just of the opinion that they should make any trade/move that makes the team better regardless of the player/coach. I also think we've kind of seen the player that Hartman is (over the past two years, not just this one) and he is a decent L2-3 player. He does bring some toughness, but it really hasn't been that consistent, and I think at the end of the day, that's why he was traded.

Preds will never win it.

Added PK thinking it would get them over the hump. It didn't.

Added Turris, brought a dude out of retirement and traded for Hartman.

It still won't work.

Agree
I have never bashed Q before but today that changed. I do not care what he has done in the past because today he is driving this team into the ground with his pompous stubbornness. How long do we keep excusing him because "he won 3 cups"?

I wonder if we are trying to extend Rutta or Wingels? and that is why they have not been traded?

Here's the condition of the first-round 2019 pick in the Evander Kane deal: if the Sharks re-sign Kane, it's a first; but if Kane walks into free agency, it's a second-round pick in 2019

I like my trade way better. Thats a poor return if he doesn't re-sign

Vegas, WPG both have as good a shot as any considering the way they've played this year.

Kane only a 2nd if San Jose don't sign him
I bet Buffalo wish they traded him earlier , have to think they were better offers before

I don't know. I think last year was their best shot.

I think Knights or Jets can come come out of the West.

wow we gave up more for Weiss and Flesch. I think Buffalo held out to long it looks like. Have to think there was a 1st offered at some point.

I'm not making any argument for or against keeping Q. I was simply wondering how trading one player means that Q is staying. With the rumors out there, I understand how/why some have said this, but I don't think it is that basic/simple.

Yes Stan, your trade is better...and did Buffalo really screw up the handling of E. Kane...have to be believe they held on to him way longer then they should....seems like they could have gotten a much better deal last year or even in the past offseason...a 1st or 2nd rounder in 2019....no thanks

No team in the league has the Defensive depth Nashville does. Only Pittsburgh has better Center depth than Nashville. Hellebuck has never played a playoff game so we will see how he looks come Round 1. Vegas has a great TEAM, but still lacks high end offensive/defensive stars. Nashville should be the betting favorite to play Pittsburgh in the Cup again. Nashville is probably the ONLY team that I'd cheer against if Crosby makes it to the Cup Finals again.....

Close to accurate except SJ will select around 22 while the Predators pick will be related to Cup success of failure.
The teams like NASHVILLE that won their divisions but do not play in the Conference Finals select (potentially picks 24–27) Could happen, but unlikely.

If they lose the in the Conference final:
The teams that lose in Conference Finals (picks 28 and 29)

If the Preds lose in the Final.
The team that was the runner-up in the Stanley Cup Finals (pick 30)

If they win the Cup.
The team that won the Stanley Cup in the previous season (pick 31)

It is a rare draft where the first round doesn’t shrink, and there will be plenty of solid prospects with nice upside there even at #31…..

Sharks will need to sign E Kane to justify that payment, and Hartman is a RFA, and whether his reps like it or not are, he kinda is stuck with the bump that comes with being a RFA as Nashville and Their CAP will start crunching too.
