TRADE ALERT: Hartman plus Hawks' 5th Rd pick in 2018 to Nashville for 1st RD pick in 2018 plus Victor Edjsell plus 4th Rd pick in 2018

JL Thoughts: really impressed Stan was able to get a 1st rounder out of him. There were rumours that Hartman was "difficult" at times and was falling out of favour with Coach Quenneville.

Victor Edjsell could be a sneaky good pick up by Stan as well.

As per Dobberhockey - here is the breakdown on the hulking Swede forward = https://dobberprospects.com/victor-ejdsell/

Edjsell is 605/214 and playing in the Swedish Elite..No NHL experience.

But has 25g/32a in 50 games this year.

Another Euro to go along with the softest team in the league.

So for all the people that love to bash bowman, and was about to before even seeing the return for hartman....are you same guys going to praise him for getting a 1st rd pick in this deal?

That was an amazing deal for the hawks. A 1st for hartman? wow

that first will be somewhere between 27-31

Guys, Victor Edjsell was a guy Bowman liked all along. Two-way center, close to NHL ready. With a 1 and flipped a 4 for a 5.

I am very good with this move.

he is 12 years younger for close to the same dollars..with potential to grow

Hartnell is one of the best snakes in the league. He does 3 times the nasty sneaky poop and doesn't get caught half as much as Hartman. And he scores. Sure he's getting old, but he's more effective than Hartman will ever be. Let 38's entourage go hang out in Nashville and take their attitude with them.

Well we now have a second 1st round selection. Package them both to move up?

I'd expect that's what he is thinking

I think any player Bowman acquires over 6’0” becomes a fan favorite

Tommy, not if he is soft as S--t. Like Victor Svedberg.

It is. This draft is VERY deep, we need picks. Bowman has gotten a first, a third and turned a 5 into a 4...also got a big young center who is big and skilled....

Big F'N deal, if Nashville wins the cup ,it's the 31st pick. Plenty of smurfs left to choose from by then. How bout the guy they got from Nashville? Let me guess, 5"6 , 155 lbs?
- wonthecup10

He is bigger than that but ADB is probably tougher than him.

They have to get out of the Central first. If they get knocked off its a better pick I think.

I do not understand why everyone is so excited about this 1st rounder either if you consider where that pick will occur.

Have you seen him play? What is your scouting report?

Yea, Swedes are really soft...I'd hate to have guys like Nik Hjmarlsson, Gabriel Landeskog, Henrik Zetterberg...

Lance Bouma clears waivers.

Now that he's passed waivers, he's more valuable as a trade asset now that he can come and go - maybe worth a 7th rounder now?

Considering our early/mid 2nd rounder is in Montreal, this is a slight upgrade.

Because now the Hawks have two #1s in a very deep draft and a POTENTIAL to package picks to move up.

@CapFriendly

#Blackhawks now have 8 picks (2 in the 1st RD) in the upcoming 2018 NHL Draft.

Why would Stan not package several of these to try and move up in the 1st round in a very deep draft year.

If they are sold on Edjsell. They may try to move AA and Rutta or Franson for a Dman.

What I love most about the Hartman trade is that Stan made a move which can't possibly make this team better this year. This means they can hopefully sink further and get closer to better lottery.
