tell him "faggit" is a term or endearment and not the same as "someone who is attracted to the opposite sex" |

Honestly I would trade:
Maroon for a young fwd and pick
Cammalleri for a pick
Strome for a player
Gryba for a pick
All at this deadline
In the off-season try to move out Lucic if at all possible. And as much as I hate to say it I just don't see a world where we keep Nuge... unless Todd is willing to try him out on the wing with either McDavid or Draisaitl |

I like Strome. He's no Eberle but he's a good player nonetheless. |

Very unfair when the Oilers said they were disappointed in him... He's performing as expected. |

100%. Anyone getting rid of Strome is making the same the mistake we made by getting rid of Cogliano. We're taking a completely serviceable NHL player and getting rid of him for- at best- a similar player. We'd most likely only get a middling prospect or a pick. Even at his QO of 3mil, he offers greater value to this team than you'd likely get in another player. If we offer him term (3 or 4 years) and the security associated at around 2.5mil, we're getting good value out of him even if this is his peak.
He's a low-event player with skill that can play multiple roles and be the foundation of a solid third line and he's the sort of player that good teams keep around and support to maximize their impact. |

No. Unless we had a deal in place to swap Nurse or Klefbom for a significant upgrade for our wings then not a chance. We're already woefully deficient in scoring. That's not to say we wouldn't win that trade by a mile value-wise, but I don't make any significant trades that take away from our offense or team speed. |

100% Agreed with that analogy (still salty about it). No need to make the same simple mistake twice. |

What about Puljujarvi for McDonagh
Nuge for Hoffman
Klefbom for another winger.
We'd be able to run McDavid, Draisaitl, Strome and Khaira down the middle. Hoffman, Lucic, Slepyshev and PONTUS down the left. The right wing that we get for Klefbom, Yammy, Caggiula and Kassian
I'd also look into Grabner instead of Caggiula. |

As for cap troubles as some of you have mentioned, cap expected to be around 78-82m going into next year. Worst case is 78m. Regardless, we'll be fine (17m counting the possible 3 extra mill). This is all projected, but it is something to consider going into next year.

Detroit is probably hoping for that possible 7m increase though.

Agree with the bolded. Doubt Gryba will get us a pick.
However, trading Maroon means that we will be betting on Khaira to make a jump in progress going into next year.
Khaira/Lucic/Slepy/Aberg... man does that look iffy... |

pacioretty or Hoffman for Nuge. I'd hope for Hoffman.
Trade Lucic to Arizona for something. I don't even know. Probably would have to retain 2 million though. - KrisRussellIsBad
Im sure he would be thrilled to accept a trade to Arizona. |
