Hartman not one shift since his penalty. Saad looked better tonight but I'd love to see the CBJ storekeepers tallies for Toews' turnovers tonight...pushing close to double digits. Duclair was effective tonight and, minus his bad turnover, Vinny was good again. - EnzoD
Lose a game they should never have lost to a completely unimpressive team who looks like they might make the playoffs.. Junior B goaltender lets in a bad goal for the winner; Saad couldn't drop a puck in the ocean from a rowboat and as you say, nothing from #19. And of course Q will get the blame on here.
One more thing Stanbo, please get rid of Saad while you can. |

Make a (frank)ing save - Keith was far enuf away guarding Anderson that Forsberg should have had time to pick it up. - StLBravesFan
i am strong defender of the goalies...but that type of goal at that time of the game are killers... |

Lots of missed chances and the Hawks take over the lead in the NHL in terms # of times they hit the post. They fix up the defensive issues and settle out some forward lines and it will go a long way to improving the team. |

Again hard to see the shot when your defenseman is screening you - BetweenTheDots
Again - NHL goalies make that save late in the game - don’t allow that deflating goal.
But - that’s just my armchair (actually, sofa in my den) opinion. |

Q gets the blame for sitting Hartman for the last (more than) 40 minutes of the game. |

Symptomatic of how the whole season has gone.
First goal - young guy (Hartman) takes a horrendous penalty.
Second goal - Oesterle refuses to lay out on a 2 on 1 (in general he refuses any contact, ie blocking shots, taking the man, being physical)
Third goal - A soft goal by our goalie
Add to that the opposing goalie makes some good saves at key times.
Last night we saw that the Central division is much stronger/deeper than the Pacific. Tonight we saw that the Central division is much stronger/deeper than the Metropolitan division. Neither the Sharks or Blue Jackets would be in the playoffs if they were in the Central division.
Even though Forsberg let in a softie I see his potential. I would keep throwing him out there.
Even though Jurco scored, he is awful. No way that he should return next season.
How ironic if it turns out that Hartman's last shift as a Hawk was taking a dumb penalty.
Best possible result for tankathon.

Hard to stop what you can't see while Keith was screening him looking for his jock strap - BetweenTheDots
From that angle you do not need to see it. You should cover the entire open side of the net.

Junior B goaltender. The Swedish Sieve. - RickJ
He’s actually not been a sieve - last 5 games 3-1-3-2-3=12=2.4/game. Lost 3 of the 5.
It’s the fact that (a) Hawks can’t score; (b) the soft goal he keeps giving up; (c) the late goals in close games he gives up. |

How many dumb penalties behind the play is that idiot #38 going to take this season? Q should have left him in the dressing room after the 2nd period. I don't know what his hockey IQ is but my guess is 1 above lettuce. Stupid player. |

That Hartman penalty was likely the turning point in this game. It negated a scoring chance for us and gave Columbus a PP that they scored on.
I do not want Hartman traded but I would whole heartedly agree with him sitting out a few games. |

Hawks lose a game they could have won...goals scored by Kampf and Jurco.
"Core" is once again MIA.
Good luck rebuilding on the fly SB...you'll need a miracle, plus another lockout. |

I don't care what his numbers are, there is a bad goal at a bad time almost every game with him. This team just knows they can't win with him in net. And my bet is he knows that they have no confidence in him.
In my only defence of Forsberg, is there anybody on this team that can win a faceoff so you can control the puck? Another brutal aspect of the Hawk's game. |

And folks wonder why Q was playing Glass...that was a brutal goal and he's had a bunch of them. In fairness to the kid he was thrown in the deepend midseason with that defense in front of him. Again how does Bowman not bother to get an actual NHL backup to start the season?
Ah Jurco scored...his one for the season - another great move by Stan...hey hopefully they can sell high on him.
lot of smurf forwards working the perimeter...
Vinny looked good - puck was really bouncing tonight. 19's passes were just god awful this evening...thought Bob saved the game for the Jackets...although what two more posts for the Hawks...they give away another one they coulda woulda shoulda had... |

Lots of shots? Yup.
A few Grade-A chances? Yup.
None of them going in? Yup.
An iffy, deflating goal-against? Yup.

He could have added: blue line turnovers? Yup. |

Have to agree 67...that was a 2 on 1 going in and all of sudden the play is dead and then a minute later its in the back of our net. Hawks momentum gone pfft... |
