Id argue this is the best collection of forward talent in the Sid era, even a better team than 2015-2016.
The center depth alone, with Sheahan in the 4 spot, is better than 2011.
First in the Metro, which was a pipedream in Dec let alone just qualifying as WC, is now a real possibility. |

Why do I have a bad feeling about more trades?. I think it should be left alone now. |

If you can move Hundwick without getting rid of anything worthwhile and get a #7 dman, you do it in a heartbeat. No need to make any significant moves. Just glad they didn't move ZAR or sprong. |

I would probably agree, but Rutherford is killing the deals this season. I trust him. I still can't believe we got Oleksiak and Sheahan for bit parts. I honestly don't want Kane anymore. |

They did well today. Brassard now gives them 4 strong lines. |

i wonder if they can come up with a shuffling of the deck that ends up giving crosby back guentzel or hornqvist. |

Good start... Only 2 things to worry about:
1) Kessel Injury. Looked harmless enough, but God Forbid he breaks a collarbone or worse with the shoulder....
2_ GM JR forgetting he is GMJR and thinking he is XGM Ray Shero. As long as GMJR doesnt turn this deadline into 2013 (no crankshaft or Iginla please) they should be fine. Pretty sure Sully wont misuse Brassard like Disco Dan did with Iginla |

So at the core of this trade, George McPhee was the one to make it all happen to block a Brassard trade to Winterpeg (pay 40% of Brassard's salary) and at the same time say you're welcome Eastern Conference, especially you Washington.....
Thanks George! |

He came back after going to the locker room. No way he comes back if it's broken. I think worst case, he's sore and misses a game or two. I hope not, but thankfully he has enough padding I don't think it'll be serious. |

after all the times crosby, letang, and malkin have come back only to miss substantial time, i will always worry regardless of a guy coming back to that game |

Really excited to see how the lines shake out. One things for sure Sids line as it was tonight cannot stay together. I’m not sure why ZAR was on the 4th to begin with. Or why he stayed there tonight. Sid and Rust have no chemistry. Both players seem worse when put together. |

And that's the difference between Rutherford and Shero. Shero worried about winning the trade and didn't worry how the pieces fit. Rutherford goes after exact fits. |

Great to see this trade go down. The possibilities of lines are endless. GMJR is magical.
I'm wondering if these lines work
Guentzel - Crosby - Hornqvist
Hagelin - Malkin - Rust
ZAR - Brassard - Kessel
Sheary - Sheahan - Rowney
It's nuts to think a guy like Sheary could be pushed to the fourth line, or dangle him for Kane somehow, but I don't know how you make that cap work. I guess you could switch up Guentzel and ZAR, or maybe even try ZAR on the second like and throw it back to HBK? My head is spinning... |

Trying to understand what Vegas really gets out of this. Why do that much work to help Pitts out. We shall see in the future what kind of favor is in place. Great move by GMJR. |

You can replace Rowney with Simon/Sprong and make that roster gold. |

Will they play Hagelin with Brassard to see if they still have the chemistry that torched the Pens in the past? |
