We were taking over the blog with our music so let's see if there is any interest in posting links here.

On the newer side, Gary Clarke Jr is one of my current favourites, saw him at the Commodore last time he was in Vancouver. He's getting bigger (redid "Come Together" for the Justice League movie), but his less commercial stuff and live performances are much better at showcasing his skills

Man, he is good.
Check out The Marcus King Band, he's a Warren Haynes protege.

Try and find his set at the Lock'n Festival either this summer or 2016. We streamed it live and it was killer.
Once you find that festival on YouTube it will open a whole new& old world for you. Their is a Phil Lesh & Friends (friends being the Chris Robinson Brotherhood) and a set with The Doobie Brothers with The String Cheese Incident that is awesome.
Johnathan Wilson is another contemporary dude to check out.

Thanks, I'll take a look for them! Been trying to find more of the bluesy rock for a while now. Closest thing I could find that I like was Black Joe Lewis, but he's got more brass instruments than guitar rifts

You guys should tell Carol about this thread she would really appreciate it from a DJ perspective.

One of my fond memories of Vancouver life was managing a local rock band. MY own music experience was limited to percussion performance. So management gave me the venue to be part of that scene.

DJ's though get to go experience a lot more from all sorts of angles. So more to offer.
