Sorry, but we're not taking scraps.. if the Sens are to trade Karlsson, they'd want a kings ransom...

To Winnipeg:
- Karlsson
- Paul
- Ahl
- 3rd 2019

To Ottawa:
- 2018 1st, 2019 1st
- Connor
- Trouba

All moot because Karlsson won't want to go to Wpg and Trouba won't want to go to Ottawa.

Lowry, Perreault and Armia for the 3rd line.
Hendricks, Tanev, and Copp for the 4th line.

Why Poolman with Morrissey? I don't understand the logic. My assumption would be either Poolman with Chiarot, and you play the top 4 all 25+ or you stick Kulikov with Poolman and Chiarot with Myers and even out minutes until it dictates otherwise.

Though some may not get it - the Jets won't be trading Little, Byfuglien, Wheeler, Scheiffle, or Laine until they get to a salary cap impasse or just decide to blow it all up. These are pros the Jets continue to build around and are settled in the peg.

This doesn't mean these guys will be in the same role in the coming years - Little will give way to Roslovic and be an outstanding 3rd/4th line centre, Byfuglien will continue to be an imposing 3rd/4th d. Wheeler is in his prime, Scheiffle is accelerating to a long prime of career time and Laine is special.

I thought about adding Ehlers and Morrisey to my list but, like Connor, there is not enough track record to commit to. (track record for being a pro, rooting in Wpg, etc.). - we can't keep them all forever.

We shouldn't be in a rush to trade Mason or Hutch. Goaltending position can get thin in a hurry with a slump or a couple injuries.

It was a guess, just swapping one out for the other.

Karlsson is my favorite player in the league. To have him on my favorite team.

I think a Karlsson/Trouba swap would work for both teams.

Trouba
Roslovic
2018 1st
2018 3rd

I think that's more than fair and great for both teams. Karlsson on Winnipeg would instantly make them a cup contender.

Poolman is now our #3. Hope JoMo and Trouba can handle 30 minutes

Because Kulikov, Myers, and Chiarot are all ass defensively. Poolman is the only one who can step up. Unless, of course, Kulikov rediscovers his puck rushing 2012 self, Myers develops hockey IQ, and Chiarot develops into an NHL player.

The Jets need to worry about winning again after that disappointing effort in Detroit and Florida. Thrown away points.

Wow, I can't believe how "I" flip and flop on my own goal tending thinking but a couple weeks ago I was ready to trade Hutch but today, well, I agree 100% with 2.0. Having a strong numbers guy in the net on the farm with NHL experience is just plain good goal tending depth. Lots of time to unload Hutch if need be but today, I am not trading Hutch.

As far as Mr. Trouba, I think the team really wants to sign him, but I am not sure Mr. Trouba wants to stay. Let me ask you all this, has there even been a report of the Trouba family coming to Wpg to watch their son play?? I will leave it at that. I know the team wants him to stay and even went as far as having his brother work for the Moose (that is unconfirmed but I am sure its true) but I don't think he wants to stay here in the Peg. So, package him up, the best you can get, forward, Dman, but long term, I don't see him here. Not willing anyway.

So seriously, forget about trades with a Canadian city unless there is a three way with a US city, but what do get for Troubs and/or what kind of "reasonable" package could be included? Okay, all you armchair GM's get to work!!

Yes. We don't want Karlsson, cant afford him, and he wont come here. As good as he is its essentially a useless argument. Mark Stone , however, is a guy worth pursuing as I mentioned in the last thread.

Hendricks could use a rest every couple if game. I agree. However, Dano is a liability and not a good replacement. Petan or Matthais will do fine for now.

Perreault is too good a player to play 7.9 minutes a game. He needs to get more ice time somehow. Third line is a possibility except that unit is playing extremely well right now. Tough to break them up.

Trouba played one of his best games of the season against Tampa. Hopefully that continues going forward. I wouldn't lose sleep however if he were traded for the right package. I believe we still have the depth on D to cover for his loss while adding value elsewhere.

Hutch should be traded ASAP.

Touching on the depth in D, where do we have the depth to replace Trouba? Byfuglien is in decline, Enstrom is having a bounce back year but is still a drop off risk, Morrissey is an elite #3 dman, Poolman looks like a top 4 guy but isn’t proven, and Kulikov and Myers are both bottom pairing guys whom have been trending down for a while. Chiarot is an AHLer, and it’s too soon for Niku. Where is this depth?.

P.S. you’re wrong about Dano, and basically every publication/writer to have talked about the issue agree.

Agree Perreault should get more than 7.9 minutes and taking Hendricks out occasionally for another player can't hurt either. Petan's play with the Moose has been good lately and apparently he is working hard and his coach is singing his praises on his attitude and work ethic. Maybe its time for another look at the big squad and/or getting noticed by another team. I believe he has 17 pts in 19 games. I believe he will produce at some point in time with hard work and good attitude as the skill level is there.

Wrong-way Rexy,

The ultimate proof on Dano will come when he is offered to every GM in the league and you don't get better than a 4th or 5th round pick for him. That may have already happened at which point he ends up where he is now which is a niche back-up depth player for most NHL / AHL rosters.

We have lots of depth on D. Your glass is always half-empty. I would not trade any of them. They are are fine.

You are the only person is Winnipeg that believes that Myers and Kulikov are on the decline. Every hockey writer is talking about Myers having a renaissance season where he is playing the same way he did when he won the Calder trophy.

Kulikov just keeps getting stronger as the season goes on. Considering the guy had back surgery last year, his play was expected to start of weak. Florida hockey writers were commenting on how much the Panthers miss the guy.

Morrissey is being talked about as a number 1 defense man and you have him as our 3? Wow!

You are probably the only Jets fan that wants to see Enstrom come back. Seems like you being the only person is becoming a theme in this post!

Rexy it seems like you get stuck with these ideas that you are unwilling to let go off.
