Tonight’s game has all of the traits of a trap game. Opponent roster depleted, home game after a road win, front game of a back to back.
Look for the Hawks to pull their usual of playing down to their level of competition, getting behind early and playing catch up against a team with big and mobile D men who will not give the Hawk forwards the easy pass the Panthers did.
Some things are getting better, no question, but let’s be honest - 19’s goal was a fluke, and they played the team in the NHL that allows the most shots against.
Hope I am wrong, but I doubt it. |

Tootoo close to returning, that might see Kero go to the AHL, which may not be bad, would rather have that kid playing some minutes than sitting. Tootoo can sit.
I wonder to myself what the asking price might be for Pacioretty out of Montreal. This guy would look good in our lineup. Reasonable salary for another year after this and he gets pucks on net. - breadbag
Tutu's doesn't even need to be mentioned here. The fourth line looks great. Hawks have weakness at center, Kero should get a look at some point. If Kero can't play Line3-C then I think the Hawks need to find someone who can. Tutu has ZERO business playing ahead of anyone in this lineup, that's to include resident whipping boy Bouma, who while no star, I'd rather have him that freaking Tutu. |

Ducks/Hawks games are usually tough ones, even if the Ducks have a few injuries. |

The window of opportunity to win is now! Typically a rental costs a 1st round pick and a prospect (at least).
Trade a 1st and Sikura ASAP for E Kane. Evander will solve all the team's problems and Sikura is a college midget who won't be able to adjust to the man's game in the NHL. Stan should throw in DeBrincat and/or Jokiharju to seal the deal. - DarthKane

I know you employ sarcasm occassionally but i do think you are serious here.
Window of opportunity looks more like to bolster Bowman's standing in place with a deal that might help us win one rou nd. Do not even consider any significant injuries. The price is two top assets going forward. Seems like robbing our future for the present. Two assets gone and you hope that E Kane sticks around.
So then Bowman is magicly going to pull more rabbits out of a hat - like he did to secure Ruuta and Kempny.
I understand your logic. I choose no. I imagine the board could be split on this opinion |

Nope, not serious. I don't mind paying the price for the right player, Vermette was worth it and I think Ladd was a good deal too (just not the outcome we wanted).
There comes a time when a rental isn't worth the price, and I think that time is now. The Hawks need the likes of Sikura, Debrincat and Forsling to step up and be the next wave. I'm not saying they're read now or that they ever will be, just that the team needs to give them the chance.
If the price was a 1st and Pokka for Kane, sure, I'd do that. But it will likely take a lot more to land Evander. |

If Bowman were able to extend Evander Kane, then I would have no issue sending a college prospect like Sikura to acquire him. For a rental, I would not part with a high-upside player like Sikura as he appears to be the real deal (being selected for Canada's Pre-Olympic Roster is a good sign). Either way, if the goal is to try and win another Cup while Duncan Keith is still an Elite Dman, additions are needed to this roster, even with the emergence of Forsling as a 22+ minute/night player.

Need the Hawks to hang around the playoffs but fall to 10th in the Conference. Need to be good enough to avoid the Draft Lottery. Don't want you to get any more Patrick Kanes. - VopatsRash

Crawford goes tonight.
Forsberg will draw in tomorrow vs. Nashville. - Justin Lowe
Unless Crawford has a mental block re: Nashville after the 2015 playoffs, why would you put your best goalie against the injury-packed, non-division rival team?

Kind of tongue in cheek but kind of serious, but there was a recent article about Keith wanting to play until age 45. I believe he could do it, but the question is how many of those years will be at elite level before degrading each year toward retirement. His Cup window at least could be a lot wider if he can stay in tip-top shape and live up to this personal goal of his. |

To be fair, goalies are not why we have lost to the Preds lately. Defense and forwards getting beat are. |

Red Font ???
I surely hope you're kidding. You do NOT trade young up and coming talent like ADB and Jokiharju for anything, no less a probable rental in E Kane. I'd love to get E Kane don't get me wrong, but I'd prefer the Hartman, Kempney, plus for Nick Bjugstad.... if Tallon would bite. A 6'6 young Center with face off skills would help this team more in the future. JMO.

If the situation was reversed, and the equivalent players for the Hawks were out of this game, Hawks would lose 10-1. |

Don't kid yourself, the Hawks will still lose 10-1 to a depleted Anaheim squad. |
