it would really be smart to also get Kempny and OST in for a couple games and give Seabs, Maybe franson a night off. Kero should also draw in and give sharp the back to back's off.

Some were I read that Buffalo was scouting Hogs game. Hino, Jurco, Kampf, Dauphin, Highmore have by all accounts looked good. Of the D men, Gus has played well It sounds like. Pokka and Dahlstrom have been Ok.

If Ruuta and especially Forsling miss too many games we may not make the playoffs.

The Hawks have never been a team that hits a lot, I'd rather them have the puck then worrying about checking to get the puck back. The 4th line is playing well and they're effective in their role. Stan did his job in that regard.

I think 1 an 4 hopefully I'm wrong and it goes the other way. Reason this club has some major holes on it need a top 4 d man 2 centers and another top 6 lw or rw forward with size and speed. To me the hawks a eastern conference team playing in the west they play a more up and down style where as the west plays more defensive type of game clog up the neutral zone and dump and chase. The sharp experiment is over sit him a couple of games and put kero in between Hartman and panik move dcat up with towes and saad, dcat needs to play with top 6 talent. Hawks are not getting a top 4 damn because with exception of a few teams every team is looking for one. So the best move in my mine is get a solid defensive center who can win faceoff on consistent basis example 2015 vermette. Highly doubt the hawks can land evander kane don't have the assets or picks to do it. The team I would be looking at is Edmonton and the panthers maroon strome letestu from Edmonton conner brickley sceviour from florida. Justin any trade rumor swirling not only with the hawks but with other teams around the league?
- Scott1977

I mentioned this yesterday. The Hawks play more of an Eastern style up and down with more time and space and the run they've been on has been against Eastern teams. Now they're playing the West again which is a much more physical style and teams will clog the neutral zone more. It'll be interesting do see how they do here over the next 5 before they head to Washington next week to take on the Caps.

As Justin mentions physical presence isn't as needed with Hartman and Panik because of the more physical players on the 4th line. Hartman shouldn't be centering a line and back on the wing. The other thing is like most of the forwards neither of these guys is putting the puck in the net and both had 20 last season. I wouldn't mind seeing Hartman getting a shot on the first line.

This and aren't they also above water for Corsi this year vs the last two.
- HawkintheD

They've never been below 50% CF for a season under Q, they're just doing better quicker this season. They had a so-so start and weak finish in 2016, and they had a bad start and good finished in 2017. CF adj for this year and last 3 years are below (threw in 2015 to give context to how well a cup team):

2015: 2nd with 53.89% CF; last 25 games, 7th with 52.75% CF

2016: 15th with 50.64% CF; last 25, games, 16th with 49.30% CF

2017: 11th with 50.85% CF; last 25 games, 6th with 51.65% CF

2018: 9th with 51.68% CF; last 10 games, 1st with 54.54% CF

Caveat as always that shot metrics do not tell the whole story but historically do correlate with goals/wins.

I doubt any combination of these players gets you Evander Kane.

Sikura might. Gotta remember that Evander is a UFA this summer so his trade value is lower as a rental.

Need the Hawks to hang around the playoffs but fall to 10th in the Conference. Need to be good enough to avoid the Draft Lottery. Don't want you to get any more Patrick Kanes.

He didn't mention Sikura and with what Buffalo went through with Vesey you think they'd roll the dice again on an unsigned college kid?

I would rather see physicality throughout the lineup not just on the fourth line. We need to retain players like Panik and Hartman (and even add more) to be an effective playoff team.
Last year Panik was the only Hawk who could hurt an opposing player with his hits. This year the aforementioned 4th line and Murphy have added to this dimension. We were just too soft the last 2 years.

I would not trade Sikura for a guy they'll never be able to sign after the season.

The value is only lower until the TDL where it'll be the normal going rate for a rental - a 1st + (perceived) decent prospect ala Ladd, Vermette, Hanzal, etc. in recent years. Maybe Buffalo takes an additional prospect instead of a 1st cause they need help now but there will be some takers come deadline time. Hell, some teams that maybe want to sign him after (like San Jose, LA, Vegas, Columbus, Carolina, New Jersey) may throw in more to secure him. St. Louis could be in there too if they move some pieces, I guess.

With all the Ducks' injuries, why wouldn't Q start Forsberg tonight? You'd have to think it would be easier to get a win with your back-up against the Ducks than the Preds.

Because typically the first of a b2b is more likely to be a win than the latter so stack the deck for the first to have a higher likelihood of getting points. The Ducks do still have a good defense + Gibson too.

Tootoo close to returning, that might see Kero go to the AHL, which may not be bad, would rather have that kid playing some minutes than sitting. Tootoo can sit.

I wonder to myself what the asking price might be for Pacioretty out of Montreal. This guy would look good in our lineup. Reasonable salary for another year after this and he gets pucks on net.

The window of opportunity to win is now! Typically a rental costs a 1st round pick and a prospect (at least).

Trade a 1st and Sikura ASAP for E Kane. Evander will solve all the team's problems and Sikura is a college midget who won't be able to adjust to the man's game in the NHL. Stan should throw in DeBrincat and/or Jokiharju to seal the deal.

Kero hasn't seen much playing time but I doubt they waive him just yet, I would expect that there's a good chance he get claimed. Tootoo already cleared waivers before he went on the IR, I would expect he gets sent to Rockford.
