He’s made some very good moves if you look at them on paper. I still say 2020 is the time we will know if those moves actually did anything for this troubled franchise.

Chayka is on about the same pace as Trump is trying to make their particular organizations great again.

He's saying age doesn't matter. A 16 year old could run an NHL team and shouldn't not be given the opportunity to succeed at it simply because of their age.

Also Clayton Keller was named the rookie of the month, if you're the type to care about such things

He looks like the real deal. Pick him up off waives on my fantasy team.

I'm saying you'd have to be pretty stupid to criticize a guy 15 games into a season when he's used four goalies and has his star defenseman on the IR.

In the NHL the healthiest team almost always ends up with the best record.

It’s not just the goalies and the injuries. It’s your coach firing up the Osterizer for his lines, benching Duces, not grasping that you actually have to utilize your players in roles that suit their hockey talents.

This team doesn’t click well together and I think it’ll be this way until Tocchet gets a talking to or a walking notice.

i was at the game saturday.

raanta played great, but the team in front matched up well against a pretty strong puck possession team in carolina.

i think they are better than their record.

Yeah but the coach isn't on the GM...its not like he hired him or anything.

I agree all the way that the Coyotes are better than the record suggests. With Raanta back, it’ll go a long way to maybe winning 2 or 3 of every five. I just don’t agree with a lot of how Tocchet assigns players in roles. He does the obvious ones fine, but he buries some great offense on grind lines and in role playing depth. Meh.

Rocket isn’t neccessarily a bad coach, but he’s not acting like a good one either. If Keller wasn’t on (frank)ing fire, I couldn’t imagine how crazy bad this season could’ve been.

If injuries are due to bad luck, and the team with least injuries always has the best record, then the Capitals were just the luckiest team last year? I thought it had to do with talent, not luck.

Granted you did say "almost always," but I haven't seen data to correlate this beyond the 16/17 season.

Luck is completely overrated. You can’t say that you got lucky for 8 months straight. You can build momentum off of lucky situations from the confidence of getting that kooky goal gives you. Bad luck happens when you lose your starting goaltender to injury. But it’s not bad luck that every other goalie you have sucks ass. It just means they suck ass.

Criticism is coming from guys like you who overestimated how long it takes to build and how long it can take for kid's to find their NHL game, if ever.

You're part of the problem, not the solution! Stop overhyping them.

The NHL is a salary cap league with 100% parity. Hate to say it, but it's all about 99% luck.

What's more short sighted, saying that the GM of a team that has won 2 of 15 is terrible or saying that the GM of a team that has won 2 of 15 games is the best in the league?

This team hasn't gotten better under his guidance. I expect he has a long leash so time will tell if they are headed in the right direction. Keller looks like a great player and they will be picking high again this year. At a certain point they have to put together a team that can win some games though.

I'd say he might not be the worst GM in the league but he definitely isn't one of the better GM's this far into his career.

Absolute bull poop statement. There is still bad teams(Coyotes), middling teams(Edmonton) and great teams(Tampa). Luck is just an excuse when your players aren’t playing well. It’s not bad luck Duclair isn’t living up to his potential. It’s not good luck Kucherov is tearing up the league.

Chayka's moves he should be criticized for: not getting an experienced goaltender (Elliott would've been fine) and for getting Tocchet as his coach
